Notes: This is based on X-Men: Evolution Season One (except for Gambit, I love him so I stuck him in the story). The timeline is slightly off but it will be introduced later on so there is no confusion. This prologue is short and confusing and not all that well written. Life sucks like that sometimes. An actual good chapter should be up soon.

Prologue:

A television flickered. The room's darkness was affected. Pictures were visible on the walls of joyful times past. There continually seemed to be three people who looked unrelated at their different phases of life. The happiness between them jumped from the frames.

A worn couch was visible. Among the stains and tears a person became evident and gave the impression of watching the television intently. There was inaudible muttering as pictures that seemed all too familiar flashed by. History materialized in a condensed version and flew by at alarming rates. Alexander the Great, Charlemagne, Henry VIII, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, and John F. Kennedy sped by. The tape stopped ostensibly by itself at a picture. A quick glimmer of something different. On display was an image of a white haired man seemingly merged with that of a dark haired being.

"Malum," the word was whispered and appeared to give all the motivation needed.

On the way out of a door a feminine voice called out, "Fate, Destiny, I'm needed. I'll call you. Still on for Tuesday?"

As the front door shut sparks of gold and violet flashed for a moment, then were gone.
