Hermione was woken up by a phone call at 3am. She groaned and turned over in her bed. Looking at the phone call ID number, she realised it was Harry. She quickly picked up the phone and said, in a very groggy voice "What?"
"Hermione, quick. There has been an accident" Harry said. Something about the way he said it told her it was important. "Ill be right over. The Burrow?" she asked. "Yes" Harry answered. She put the phone down and got dressed. She apparated over to the Burrow. Everyone was crowded around Ginny's bedroom door. Hermione knew that Ginny had just broken up with Blaise a few days ago, but she didn't think anything was wrong. But oh how wrong she was.
"Ginny! Ginny!" Hermione knocked on Ginny's door. Nobody answered. Ron held up a bottle of Gin. It was nearly empty. "This was full this morning. Ginny took it and I couldn't stop her" Ron explained. Hermione didn't know what to say. She charged into Ginny's room to find her passed out on her bed. Tonks was cleaning up orange vomit from around her mouth. "Mango" she explained to Hermione. Hermione fetched some more towels and helped Tonks. Tonks poured some water into the unconscious Ginny's mouth. Ginny threw it all up.
"She is going to get dehydrated if she doesn't drink! Alcohol does that to you!" Tonks said to Hermione. Hermione looked at Ginny, terrified. How had this sweet little girl ended up like this? Ron came to Hermione's side. "She told me she had a big fight with Seamus. Told me he "fucked up her life". Ginny started to moan in her sleep. She said "Forgive Seamus". Hermione didn't want everyone to know. Heck, even Molly didn't know. Harry contacted Arthur and he came straight away.
While Arthur was coming, Tonks called up an ambulance. By the time Arthur got there, Hermione had been kicked out of Ginny's room by the ambulance people and had to sit downstairs, hoping everything was alright. Suddenly, she heard screams and someone crying. It was Ginny. She had noticed the cuts on her arms when she went into her room. They were shallow, yet long. Ginny had told Tonks that if she had a knife, she would kill herself. If only she could find a knife, she said.
Hermione saw Ginny emerge from her bedroom, accompanied by two ambulance men. She looked dazed and promptly threw up all over the floor. Hermione whispered goodbye to Ginny as she watched the ambulance leave. Everyone around her was crying. She didn't cry. Tonks took her home and when Tonks wasn't looking, Hermione cried.
Hermione couldn't focus that night. Her homework was all out of order and she got into trouble the next day.
But at least she was a good friend.
AN: This is a tribute to my friend. Don't try to kill yourself It's the most stupidest thing to do. And selfish.
