Temari was thirteen when she got "the talk." Her father sat her down and explained to her, in detail about sex. He had explicit diagrams and told her stories. She sat in silence and listened. "When I was your age I was already popular with the girls. And you know what I wanted them for? Sex. I remember this one time I was with this girl behind the academy and we…" She wasn't going to tell her father to stop and leave her alone; she was too scared. "Oh man, that was great." She fiddled with her thumbs waiting for him to let her go. "Now Temari, boys are only going to want you for your body. But don't you dare give them anything." She shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "Boys only want to stick their dicks in you. Don't even touch one. Contact with boys before marriage leads to death." He wouldn't stop talking. He explained that if she ever got pregnant before marriage he would disown her and slaughter her lover. This was his way of saying "use condoms." She didn't know whether to be frightened or embarrassed by his words. Her face was blood red the entire conversation and finally, after two painstaking hours he let her go. His parting words, "Boys are the devil."
Kankuro was thirteen when he got "the talk." His father sat him down and laughed. "Kankuro, just don't get some bitch pregnant." Kankuro laughed nervously and his father walked away.
Gaara was thirteen when he got "the talk." Temari and Kankuro sat him down and looked to each other for support. She fiddled with her thumbs and Kankuro laughed nervously. Gaara sat waiting for whatever they had called him in for. "Well you see, Gaara.. Girls and boys.." Temari sat trying to figure out the best way to say it. After ten minutes of Temari's awkward stuttering and drifted off sentences, "I can't do this." Kankuro got up and left. Temari stared at him as he went, too embarrassed to even yell at him. Finally she took a deep breath, "You know about the birds and the bees, right?" She prayed he knew and they could leave it at that. "I know about the various birds in Suna, are we talking about a certain species? And I know about worker bees." Temari shook her head. "No Gaara.. I mean- Bees are supposed to be- And birds- Look- When a guy loves a girl-" She kept cutting herself off and her youngest brother kept staring at her. He had never seen her so incoherent. "Gaara, just don't anything with girls." She got up to walk away, her cheeks flushed red. "Temari, what do you-" Before he could finish, "Just don't do anything." She was walking down the hall. Gaara got up and followed her. "I don't understand. How does any of this relate?" She walked in her room and faced him. "Just don't." And she shut her door on him.
