"Why are you acting so stubborn? All I've asked you to do is this! Amara at least try to be reasonable here," Carla started her cobalt eyes slightly twitching with anger as she glimpsed down from her magazine to her daughter. Her face all ready flushed with anger, while glaring hopelessly in anticipation for a final answer from the younger blond. On the other side of the booth Amara Tenou lifted her cup off of the smooth surface of the table and drained it slowly. Taking one momentary look back at her mother, she then placed her cup back down. "Your right it is, but for someone else," she muttered not showing that much enthusiasm towards the subject at hand. Amara knew her mother hated it when she refused to her decisions, especially when it involved something she hated. Glancing out of the corner of her eye, Amara noticed the expression that was now on her mother's face. The older blond's face now fully flushed with anger seemed to a direct indication of the reply she would soon receive. "My clients will be there also. You don't have a choice, BUT to wear a dress. And further more, a qualified date would have to escort you there too," Carla continued, her freshly manicured nails taping lightly down on the three hundred paged book, that rested at the edge of the table. Her eyes now narrowed at her daughter, as if she was challenging her to shoot down this plan. Amara raised her eyebrow, meeting her mother's challenge. "Since when do I need a date to go to my own mother's birthday party? I'm your daughter remember?" "True, but this is my birthday, so you have no choice," Carla hissed. 'That's what you think', Amara thought taking another sip from her cup, her mother's eyes we're still planted on her. "Well Amara what's your answer?" "I'll go, but not in a dress," the younger blond answered her eyes now narrowed also. "Oh really dear and just how do you expect to do that? May I remind you that your father and I have talked this over and he is in full agreement with me that............ "That you're forcing me to do something that I don't want to do." "I am not, I just think..... "Can't you come up with a better excuse than ....... "AMARA WE'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS SIX TIMES ALREADY! Your wearing a dress and you WILL have a date or you can say bye bye to that new Eclipse your after." Amara stared at her mother incredulously. "That still wont change my mind, I'll get the car on my own." Carla's face turned red. "WHY ARE YOU ACTING SO STUBBURN! This is my birthday, can't you do me this kind of favor just for once." By now the people that were in surrounding booths we're staring at the two. Amara disregarded their questioning stares and continued. "No mother because I know how you are, you'll end up turning me into something I'm not." Carla stared at her for one brief moment before calming down, while taking her seat. "Fine then dear have it your way. If we can't come to some mutual agreement then I suppose will just have to compromise." Amara narrowed her eyes at her mother, not getting exactly what her mother had just said. 'What did she mean by compromise?' Amara thought, while observing a satisfied smile that was now on her mother's face.
