Hermione and Ginny stood in Weasley's Wizard Wheezes reading the labels on the love potions.
"It really is quite amazing some of the things they've come up with," Ginny said. "I didn't know Fred and George knew so much about love potions."
"Me either," Hermione agreed. "You don't need them though, love potions. All the boys like you anyway. But me...I can't even get one guy to notice me." she glanced over at Ron.
"It's not your fault," Ginny replied. "It's just depends on how boys see you. When they look at you they see someone who's really smart and that scares them. Boys don't like girls to be smarter than them. They don't realize how loyal and brave you are. That kind of makes everything even out. If they realized how loyal you are they wouldn't care that you're a know-it-all."
"What about you?"
"What do you mean?"
"If I'm smart but loyal then what are you?"
Ginny thought for a moment then laughed, "Cute but psycho." Hermione laughed and Ginny added, "Things even out."
"I guess they do," Hermione agreed. "Boys don't notice the psycho part?"
"Boys don't have a clue," Ginny answered. "I would think it's pretty obvious, but they never notice."
"Yes, you completely obsess over your brother's best friend for four years and then suddenly start dating other guys. That's definitely crazy."
Ginny glared at Hermione for a moment. "You'd have to be crazy to survive in a house with six brothers and all their friends."
Hermione laughed, "Yeah that, too."
"It will all even out in the end, you know," Ginny said seriously. "You'll find someone who appreciates everything about you."
"Yeah, I guess I will. And so will you."
"I know," Ginny replied. "I-" but whatever she was going to say was cut off by Harry and Ron walking over.
"Why are you looking at love potions, Ginny?" Ron asked. "You've had five boyfriends in the past month."
"And you're smart enough to make your own, Hermione," Harry added.
Ginny and Hermione exchanged a knowing look as they turned away from the love potions. Because truthfully, what was love worth if it was only won through magic?
