Yes! Let's start this thing!

Okay, so I'm not the best at writing, but…

No flames. I mean, you can flame if you want, who cares, but I'd prefer it if you didn't. They waste my time and really- why are you reading this if it's so bad?

Yeah. So, let's get on with this awesome (maybe not) story. Just to let you guys know, this story is on Wattpad too. So if you see it, it is in fact, my story, I just have it in both places.

I'm Maximum Ride. Birth name, that is. I guess you might know me as Maya Ride.

Cool, funny, badass, a flirt, it's all Maya.

But the thing is, she's not really me. She's a girl who I act for around town.

It all started about a year ago, when we moved from Colorado with my dad to Arizona with my mom.

OoOoO

My parents were getting a divorce. It was fine by me, as a matter of fact. My father, Jeb, used to be so nice, so caring: like the ideal dad. 'Bout two months ago, he started drinking.

There wasn't any abuse. He just lost his caring nature and kindness. He wasn't really a father, more like a shell of someone I used to know.

Then, he and mom started fighting. A lot. He would go and come home two weeks later, and he wasn't even working.

Two months later came the divorce. The deal was I'd stay with mom and visit Jeb anytime I liked: so long as he was sober and seen as appropriate to take care of me. It was perfect, by my standards: a new start. A fresh, clean, new page.

The moving day came. I was all set and ready to go, ready for a new life, a new house, a new everything.

When we got to Arizona, it was sunny, humid, and hot. I remember going into the house and feeling like I was in heaven-the AC was on full blast and everything.

The house was white, with a wraparound porch and a swing on it. Inside, to the right, there was a dining room, while to the left, there was a empty room. There was a huge foyer and butterfly steps.

I didn't know why we needed this much space, but I would welcome anything so long as it was new.

My life in Colorado wasn't bad-it's just I was blendable. Brown, stick straight hair, a box of a body, all that. I didn't have many friends either. And although I had no clear plan of what I was going to do, I had a summer to do it in, which was helpful.

"Max!" my mom called. "Go pick out a room so they can move your stuff in!"

I hurried up the steps, looking at all the rooms. There was one, on the very edge. I went into it. Three windows, closet on the remaining wall, ceiling window, and a loft.

It was…perfect.

That day, they moved my furniture into my new room, which was painted a light mint green.

OoOoO

So I guess I should give you more background.

I don't have any issues with my brain or anything, I'm just two different people.

Maya Ride around town, in school, everywhere but my house. She's banned from my house.

Max is confined into my house, like Rapunzel.

It was hard at first, being Maya, especially at school.

First, I had to say they'd made a mistake with my name-change that to Maya, not Maximum.

Second, I actually had to be her.

But I'm secure with my status and I'm happy, and that's good.

I have a pile of homework I should be doing, right?

Yeah…but who cares…right?

Right.

So, random question you don't have to answer but you should…

What's your favorite song and why?

Mine right now is probably Made in the USA by Demi Lovato, I don't know why, it's a good song and it's stuck in my head.
