He really could not think of a better use for such a cold, gray day other than lounging comfortably in his recently acquired house reading a book he'd borrowed from Levi on anarcho-syndicalism. Such a perfect day for reading should never be put to waste; it created the best light for reading and the slight drizzle that had been falling on and off for the last couple of hours created the perfect background music for such a calming activity. The steady rhythm was only ever interrupted now and then by the whisper of a turning page. When he was finally well into the story he considered getting up from his couch to fetch some of the cake he kept in his fridge to assuage Erza's sweet-tooth during her visits but decided against it. He continued to read uninterrupted until a knock on his door forced him away from his book. He opened the door and wasn't at all surprised to see the woman on his doorstep.
"Ready for a job?" she asked quietly while the drizzle once again started up, chiming metallically as it hit her armor. He grinned.
"Let me just get my coat." He took the heavy coat from its perch and hurried out the door. Erza began to fill him in on their job and meanwhile the rain managed to drench him completely. He took her hand in a light hold as his grin grew wider.
After all, he thought, he couldn't possibly find a better way to spend his day.
A little drabble with three word prompts: tooth, whisper and anarcho-syndicalism. That last one was a bitch.
