Disclaimer: I don't own Glee, Darren Criss or Chris Colfer. I wish I did but I don't. This is a fictional story and I mean no harm to the actors in it, I just think they'd make an adorable couple. :)
Darren wrapped a strong arm around Chris' waist, almost passively. He seemed to be daring anyone at the red carpet premiere to make a comment against them. Chris smiled at him before turning to the interviewer.
"So boys, rumors have been flying down the carpet and I have to ask, are you really together now?"
The young actors' eyes sparkled as they exchanged another glance.
"Yes, we are," Darren clarified, tightening his hold on the younger man. "Tonight's kind of our-mostly my- coming out party. But really we've been together for quite some time now."
"Oh, have you? How long then?"
Darren's eyes immediately flashed down and the reporter followed his gaze to a ring on his left hand. "Uh, since he gave me this ring. It started out as a promise ring on my right hand but the other night it changed, to my left as an engagement ring."
A look of shock spread over Chris' face and it was obvious that this wasn't how he'd imagined announcing their engagement but a smile quickly replaced this look and he leaned over toward the mic, "That was in 2011, a little over four years ago. I don't know how we ever managed to keep it a secret for so long. He almost outted us the first day."
"While we're on that subject, why did you keep it a secret?"
"Oh well, you know how Hollywood can be with couples. We wanted to make sure it was real before we said anything. Why cause any unnecessary drama?"
Darren hummed in agreement before adding, "Yeah and we were worried people would see it as a publicity stunt for Glee. And while I for one could care less what people think, I didn't want people to bad mouth Glee. It was, still is actually, such an important show. But now that it's over for us and we've moved on with our lives we felt it was time to say something."
"But still, four years. That's an awfully long time to keep a secret like this from the world."
Chris began laughing while Darren's face turned red, "The world? Ha, this goober almost told the world via a live chat. Although I still say Sally's to blame for that."
Darren ducked his head bashfully though he was grinning from ear to ear.
"Oh no, no no no no no no. We told our families and friends. We were just sneaking around, hiding it from the outside world. Especially since Darren wasn't out yet but we covered that a few months ago."
"Yeah, we were shocked that nobody put it together then. But that's neither here nor there, all I know is I'm in love with this beautiful, lovely man, Chris. It's magical being with him. Oh, and organic." He winked at the camera, fully aware the fans watching would catch it all. "Oh yeah, by the way world, CrissColfer is on!"
The couple laughed loudly at the confused look the reporter gave them. Chris opened his mouth to explain but stopped when he heard a familiar voice calling out his and Darren's names.
"Chris! Darren! Hey guys!"
The pair turned to see Lea and Dianna waving wildly at them, their other old castmates spread out behind hem engaged in various conversations.
"Oh how sweet, they all came out for your new movie, Chris."
Chris smiled, "Sorry, family calls." He grabbed Darren's hand and headed toward the old cast. The reporter had said they'd come for his new movie and maybe they had but deep down Chris knew they'd come for him and Darren.
A/N: The 'Sally' referred to in this story by Chris is Mark Salling. He called Mark that in a tweet for his birthday just in case anyone was confused by that.
Review? :)
