Lights flew around his head as he sent jinxes and spells toward the death eaters that dared attack his godson. Never! Just as he realized how powerful his deranged cousin truly was he began to feel fear. Fear is no stranger to him but he hated it, his whole childhood revolved around fear. There was no way he would show it. Ever. I mean after all he was the greatest and sexiest man alive in his opinion. Thus he dealt with it the only way possible, with humor, he laughed it off.
"Come on Bella. You can do better than that!" His laugh echoed ominously around the room in the Department of Mysteries. Little did he knew the other dueling pairs drew to a close on another mans new arrival. It was truly meaningless commotion. The hustle and the bustle of carefully shot counter jinxes were nothing, the only thing that mattered was Bellatrix and him. She was going down, he would ensure it. Only he didn't because it happened so fast that if you blinked you'd miss it.
"Avada Kedevra!" Time seemed to slow, a green jet of light traced its path toward him, and then, as if someone had hit the fast forward button, it darted towed his chest. He froze, everyone froze, he watched Harry's face fall as well as Remus who got stupefied because of the distraction. Time seemed to have stopped.
He completely lost control of his body, all feeling, and he fell dead. Beyond the Veil. The last thing he saw was Remus run to Harry and wrap his arms around him. He had a flashback,
Running to Remus's house with little baby Harry. He had a Order meeting and needed to drop off little baby Harry. When ever any of them needed to do something they'd share Harry amongst themselves. He had told Remus, "Take Harry. You're it." As he handed his godson off to Remus.
As he fell he muttered it under his breath. "Take him Remus. You're it." Everything vanished from view as his vision clouded and he seemed to be on air. The world seemed gone and he replayed the last moments of his glorious life over in his brain as it also came in flashes before his eyes. The yelling, the train, meeting his friends, the map, being disowned, being reowned by Prongs, attending Prongs wedding, being named godfather, the murder of Lily and James, being sent to Azkaban, twelve years in Azkaban, escaping, finding Harry, hiding in his old house, going with Harry to the train, Christmas, and the last and most defiant, falling through the veil.
A few feet from the ground he felt a strong pair of arms catch him, he saw messy black hair, circular glasses, a snitch, and the air of being care free. His best friend stared down at him looking mildly alarmed and upset upon his death, but he could only say one thing,
"Fancy meeting you here, Padfoot." Sirius smiled.
