A/N: I do not own Vampire Knight

This one is for my darling Jessie, who has just become infatuated with Vampire Knight and a certain silver haired vampire, vampire hunter. WARNING: Zero is a bit OOC

I watched as my best friend nervously approached the window, I was worried about whom she would be placed next to. Knowing full well that Yagari would never place her with me, she shot me a nervous smile before sitting down and staring absently out of the window.

"Zero Kiryu you will be placed next to her" Yagari states

I flinch inwardly, knowing that the mean, quiet Zero Kiryu would not appreciate my friend's bubbly personality.

I was placed 3 rows away from her, as the class went on I glanced back at Jessie a few times, just making sure she was alright. But what caught my attention the most was how Zero was looking at her.

He was watching her like he used to watch Yuuki. It bewildered me, someone has a crush. Mid way through the lesson, the sound of laughter filled the classroom. The whole class turns to the source of the noise, I didn't have to I knew that laugh anywhere. Jessie must have found something funny. But what took us all by surprise was that Zero was laughing too.

THE Zero Kiryu laughing at something that Jessie found funny, which would mean I'd find it funny. What is the world coming to?

"What is the meaning of this disruption?" Yagari asks

They both look up at him and crack up laughing, they were both literally crying with laughter. I begin to giggle too, catching Jessie's eye as she ever so subtly points to the window.

I soon lost at the thought of Zero loosing it over the fact that there was a bird sitting there staring into the classroom. Yagari came marching over to me, fury etched onto his features.

I tried desperately not to crack a pirate joke, as I knew the consequence but once a fearless turd, always a fearless turd.

"Sir, why are pirates, pirates?" I ask

The whole class gasps, Yagari glares at me.

"Because they ARRRRRRRR" I giggle uncontrollably

Causing Jessie and Zero to start again

"That's it you 3 will see me after class"

When the bell rings we have finally calmed down, a little. Yagari stood up from his desk and walked over to the 3 of us.

I smile at him, Zero leans back looking passive, and Jessie is biting her lip trying to prevent the last giggles from escaping.

"What was so funny?"

"The bird" Jessie and I say in union

Yagari looks at Zero

"Really Zero, you found a bird funny? Are you high?"

"No sir, you see it was all Jessie's fault she kept making up dumb stories for it and they were very amusing"

"I see, so how did you notice the bird Kendal?"

"Jessie and I have our own sign language sir, she pointed it out and I couldn't control myself"

"Okay so all of this comes down to you then does it Jessie?"

"Yes sir it does"

"That doesn't explain the meaning of your pirate joke Miss Nichols"

"Well you see sir, I thought that was the best time for one of my favourite jokes, and I thought you would appreciate it"

"Okay then, now that that's all cleared up, get the hell out of my sight"

We all run from the room, when we reach the corridor we all burst out laughing.

"Wow Zero I didn't think you had it in you to laugh like that" I say

"Me either, I took myself by surprise"

"You did a good job, and Jessie really a bird?"

This just caused Jessie to laugh harder.

"And you Kendal with that pirate joke, I thought he was going to hang you there and then"

"I know right, it's a great joke"

"It's lame but funny"

"Indeed"

Zero and I glance down at Jessie, who was now quite literally rolling on the floor laughing her ass off.

A/N: This is kind of based from a real event, the bird is real it quite literally just happened, Jessie and I laugh at anything and everything in English.
