Remus pulled Lily into an unused classroom. She sat on top of the desk, and he stood between her spread legs. His lips immediately went to her neck with gentle bites and licks.

She whimpered, clutching his shoulders with a harsh grip. "I never want this to end," she sighed breathlessly

His lips left her neck, and he gazed at her. His eyes were soft and filled with love, making a familiar feeling—one she only ever associated with Remus—well up within her. "I never want this to end, either."

"You're afraid it will, though."

"Sooner or later, James and the others will find out. I will be seen as a traitor, moving in on James's girl."

"But I'm not his girl," Lily refuted.

"James won't see it that way."

Lily grabbed his face with both hands and held it so he couldn't avoid her eyes. "Then we'll deal with it when the truth comes out. I can't give you up; I won't give you up. Understand?"

Remus nodded, allowing himself to be pulled to her for another crushing kiss.

Sirius pressed his ear to the door. It was closed, but he heard noises. He was pretty sure there was a couple making out in there.

He grinned devilishly. Maybe it wasn't any of his business, but he needed to know who the mysterious couple was.

He threw open the door and shouted, "Ta-da!"

Not only did the couple get a shock, but so did Sirius. He blinked at the revealed duo. "Evans!? Remus!?"

"Padfoot," Remus stated mournfully, moving away from Lily.

"How could you do this to James?" Sirius accused, clenching his fists at his side.

Remus swallowed. "Please, close the door."

"What? Are you ashamed that you're betraying James? Well, you should be!" Sirius growled.

Lily glared at him, green fire in her eyes as she stood up. "Close the door, Black, or else!" she warned.

He would never admit it of course, but he was a bit scared of Lily, so grudgingly, he obliged, and the door swung shut, leaving the three of them alone together.

"How could you do this to James?" Sirius asked. "He's your best friend he stayed even when he found out –" he cut himself off, glancing at Lily.

Remus was gratified to see that even if he was angry, Sirius still wouldn't betray his secret, even if the silence wasn't needed. "Lily knows I'm a werewolf. We don't have any secrets."

"You told her?" That was the most telling to Sirius.

"I love her," Remus answered simply.

Sirius swallowed. "I don't know how this is ever going to be okay. James has been in love with Lily for years."

Remus nodded. "I didn't mean to fall in love with her, but with sharing Prefect duties, it just happened. We're not ready to come out in the open yet, though."

Sirius nodded. "I won't tell James, but when he does find out, I don't know if I can stand on your side. You're my best friend, but James is my brother."

Remus nodded. "I understand."

And he did.
