You and Me:
In order to boost moral around Atlantis, Sam decides to allow a dance night for anyone to attend. Most of Atlantis is excited and many are willing to help organize food, refreshments, music and etc.
Rodney asks Katie to go and Keller convinces Ronon to attend. Sam and Lorne collaborate together to encourage John and Teyla to join the event. Lorne gets John to go and Sam is able to do the same to Teyla.
One of the nurses lends Teyla a deep purple, velvet dress. It had a low back and it hugged every curve that Teyla had. The young nurse was intending to store it away as a keepsake of a fond memory she had, but since Teyla didn't have a dress she thought it would be perfect.
The mess hall was beautifully decorated. People were dancing and having a good time. John, Ronon, Keller, Katie and Rodney are at the refreshment stand when Teyla walks in. Both John and Rodney's mouths flew open. Katie gives a backhand slap to Rodney's chest as Keller and Ronon smirk over John's stunned face.
Teyla had put her hair up and John observes her as she nervously rubs her hand across her neck. She scans the room looking any of her friends and soon as her gaze falls upon his. He straightens himself up and puts his drink on the table. They begin to walk towards each other and never looking away from one another. Her beauty was overpowering and bewitching to him.
They finally meet and find them themselves in the middle of the dance floor. He recognizes the song and he asks her to dance. She feels awkward at first, but he draws her closer and she soon is able to follower his lead. She slowly nestles her head under his chin. He closes his eyes as he takes in the fragrance of her hair.
The music slowly over comes him and without even thinking he softly begins to sing in her ear, "Cause it's you and me and all of the people. With nothing to do, nothing to prove. And it's you and me and all of the people. And don't why I can't keep my eyes off of … You and me and all of the people. With nothing to do, nothing to prove. And it's you and me and all of the people. And I don't why I can't keep my eyes off of you. What day is it? And in what month? This clock never seemed so alive."
They pull away slightly. John apologizes for singing in her ear, but all Teyla can do is smile while she fights back any tears that try to surface. They continue to dance the rest of the night together and mostly resting during the fast dance.
Rodney and Katie slip out early to be alone. Ronon picks up quickly some of the moves for fast dancing and he and Keller have a good time. During the last slow song, Keller motions Ronon to glance in John and Teyla's direction. John and Teyla both have their eyes closed while slow dancing and enjoying each other's company. The both smile as Ronon say, "It's about time."
The End.
