Hello, all, this is Separate Entity.
Spirit Bound came out two days ago, and my friend had pre-ordered it, so I read it. It's AMAZING, first and foremost.
Anyways, the end left me with this little itch to write a Christian/Lissa oneshot. Here it is.
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!
Lissa's Point of ViewI left the hearing with a heavy heart. To say that today had been a long one was an understatement. Going to the café with Dimitri; the storm of guardians; Dimitri fighting off said guardians to save Rose, and then the real shocker: Tatiana had been murdered, and Rose was the prime suspect.
Christian and I had made up, though, which was a plus. I didn't realize how much I had missed him until I had him back.
"Lissa?" Speak of the devil, I thought. "Lissa? Are you alright?"
"What do you think?" I asked, and was surprised by how bad my voice sounded.
"Easy," Christian replied. He came up from behind me and wrapped an arm around my waist. "It's been a hard day all around. But we'll get through it. And Rose will get out of this. She always does."
"I'm scared, Christian," I said.
"I'm here."
And just like that, everything was okay. Christian enveloped me in his arms, and I melted against his chest. I barely noticed as we sank to the ground, under the shade of the cherry trees.
I buried my face against him. "I'm scared, Christian," I said again, and my voice broke. Christian stroked my cheek, and murmured, "It's alright, Lissa. You don't have to be afraid."
And then I was crying, and he was holding me close, letting me stain his shirt with my tears. "Shh, shh," he said softly, stroking my hair again and again. "Shh."
Christian's Point of View
I held Lissa close to me, relishing in her closeness. It felt so good, so right, having her there. I held her tighter, and pressed my lips to her hair. She tilted her head up, making it a kiss. I was swept away in sweetness, in the scent of her skin, the warmth of her mouth on mine.
When we finally pulled away, her eyes were calm. "It's going to be okay," I said.
"Yes," she said. "Because I have you."
What do you think?
