Summary: It belonged to her so it was only natural that it would be his too.
Compiled oneshots that is one way or another, related to Loire family. But maybe more of Raine and Laguna. IU and AU.
memento
As a child, everything wouldn't make sense. Things would be brushed off, important things that on the first look wouldn't be that much different to any other object in the world. But as time goes on, slowly...

She didn't understand the importance of it at first, but she still kept it beside her. Always wearing it on her neck as she asked the kind lady, "Where's Raine?"
Her previous inability to pronounce letter R was long gone, but the person she would've loved to praise her was not around.
She countlessly asked the lady in black but the answer was always the same. She would feign ignorance and would throw a question in return. "Rain? but it's sunny, do you like rain?
"No! Not that rain," the child retorted with tears in her eyes. "I want Raine. Squall needs Raine where is she?"
The woman, no longer able to hold the façade, widened her eyes at the new reply of the little girl. Suddenly, the little one was enveloped in a hug. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you two... for her."
She didn't understand how significant those words will become at that time, so she bawled, cried endlessly until sleep took over and gave her images that soothed her sadness.

A little part of her knew that Raine wasn't coming back but she ignored it, just like she ignored the fear that night her mother figure was taken.
The last time she'd seen her.

Time passed and there's still much more to know, secrets yet to be uncovered, wishes yet to be fulfilled. But she thought, it would be okay. She have a chance to bring back the happy days. Not only for herself, but for Squall as well who was looking at her with those sparkling eyes.
"Where are yoo going?"
She put a smile on her face, keeping her own tears. "Somewhere."
"Will yoo come back?"
She closed her eyes as she pulled the boy in a hug. He would have to grow up without her but it would be safer for him that way.
When she released him, him in Raine's favorite color, him with Raine's eyes, it became harder to keep it in. Hands trembling, she reached for the object that helped her through the night and placed it on his neck. Its silver glinting in the light.
The very thing that reminded her of smiles, of laughter, of gentle blue eyes. It belonged to her so it was only natural that it would be his too. It would suit him more. He would need it more than her now.
"Take care." And with that, she turned, ignored his cries for her to come back soon and let the tears flow.
notes: Maybe she's OOC but I hope someone enjoyed this. Feel free to correct my mistakes in the story and grammar too. Thanks for reading.
