Hiya! thanks to all who reviewed my first story Thunder Storms yay you make me happy. anyway not much angst yet hmmmm... oh well. this was inspired by my mom and something she told me, see end of fanfic for more details.
disclaimer: if i owned FMA or the characters in it this wouldn't be a fanfiction it would be part of and episode or in the manga, there!
Loud and flashy. Those words described him well. He often ran headlong into danger. He is thick headed and stubborn always playing the role of the tough guy….
Withdrawn and quiet. He stands on the sidelines supporting when he can. He tries to slow down and think things through before worse happens….
Some could say that two more different people could not be found, and how well they got along surprised most people until they got to know the two better. However she had always known from the day she had first met them. She sighed watching them leave again, returning who knows when and probably busted up when they did. Yes they were different, near opposites even in height.
She pulled out the small charm on the thin chain around her neck. It was a small flat circle of metal, on the outside face there was color, black and white. The two colors were on opposite sides separated by a thin curved line.
…however sometimes all the guilt and pain he felt got too much. And he would collapse under the strain and need his friends more than ever to help him get back up. And even as his normal self he was always looking out for those he cared about.
…but threaten the ones near him and he changed. If you crossed him by hurting his friends he acted far more like the person he looked like than the sweet polite boy he usually was.
However on both halves there was a smaller circle on the black half it was white and on the white half it was black. Just like her two friends, dark and light could exist alone but were incomplete without the other as both were a part of each other.
She reflected on this, Black and White, Dark and Light, Good and Evil, Yin and Yang, Ed and Al. all needed the other half to be there. Opposites existed for a reason and they complemented each other rather than detract and clash. Yin and Yang
Hey, so as I was saying, this is actually based off how my mom compared me to my own brother (who for the most part is to me as Al is to Ed, that's what I base all my sibling interaction on) she gave me a long speech about how my strengths are his weaknesses and so forth and vice versa, then I thought, Hey that also fits the Elrics! that and i really like the concept of yin and yang ;) oh and if you cant tell the "she" who is comparing them is Winry,
anyway enough talk, please R&R it makes me and my muses happy!
