After fighting what seemed to be a tub of lard that controlled heartless, Xigbar found himself confronting yet another obstacle.

And now, he was scared. More terrified than he had ever been in his life. Here, all his friends, even the one with the low self-esteem and giant muscles, counted on him to defeat the giant dragon standing before the ruins of the coliseum.

Xigbar reached for his guns and found them missing. His terror level soared when all he found in his hand was a key. A giant key for a giant dragon.

Great. Just great. Could today get any worse?

As Xigbar sliced through the neck of the beast, he discovered, yes, today could get worse, as two heads sprouted from where there was once one. Unleashing a squeal of utmost horror, the gunner turned keyblader sliced through the two newest heads. Only to discover that out popped three more.

After a while, the bird-horse came to offer Xigbar some help, though he refused it. There was no way he was going to have some creature help him FLY. He controlled space! But yet, it was just not listening to him.

He dodged and leapt out of the way of the ferocious monster's gnashing teeth. There had to be some weak spot. Anywhere! But then, he heard it. The most irritating sound to ever reach his ears.

One of his comrades decided that it was important for Xigbar to get on to the monster's back.

"GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK."

It was just plain annoying. He could fight this thing without the beast-man's "helpful" tips

"GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK."

Xigbar glanced around quickly, noticing none of his attacks were working. Get on the back? There was no way he could get up there.

"GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK."

The voice sent him panicking. He circled around to the monster's rear, trying to find a place low enough to jump to. Why couldn't he fly?!

"GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK."

Xigbar woke with a scream that pieced through the ears of all in the Castle the Never Was.
