We play that silly game again, the one we always play.
"Which one is Hikaru-kun game!"
We always play that. It was fun once, to watch people study. To watch as they fruitlessly glanced at our faces, trying to figure which twin was which. And then we'd laugh as they got it wrong. Or maybe they got it right, and we would still laugh. Because they didn't really win. They didn't really know. It was just a lucky guess. A fluke. We were interchangeable, because we were the same. Their was no "I" or "me", it was "you" or "we". We'd tell them they were wrong and they'd believe us, and only we would know if they were ever really right. But we'd never tell.
They were the Outsiders, they didn't belong. They would never know.
Our own parents never won. They'd just wave their hand and dismiss it as "a silly child's game". But we knew why they really wouldn't play. They were embarrassed. Embarrassed at the fact they couldn't even tell their own children apart. It was a fun game. Because it was a game we never lost.
We were the same,
-yet we were not.
We were different from the others,
-because we were exactly alike.
...It's amazing how one person can change all that.
She played our game. Even played by our rules. When she guessed, we laughed, because she was right. But she'd never know that. No-one ever knew, because we always win. We waited for her to agree, she was wrong, it was a guess.
But she merely smiled. She won-
-and she knew.
That's when we realized that we were the ones who had lost.
We lost the game we never lose.
He was my brother, and I was his. Only we could ever tell which was which. If I was me, then you must be you. If you are you, then I must be me.
Suddenly, I don't like this game anymore. I am me because I am myself.
I have an idea.
I'm tired of this game.
Let's play a new one.

A/N: Yeah, I know, I'm suppose to be updating HDT right now, but I was watching an amv and a scene came up with the twins playing the "Which one is Hikaru-kun game" and this quite literally popped in my head. I started thinking "Why is it always "Which one is Hikaru-kun game"? It's never "Kaoru-kun". I really liked the idea, so I took about 15 minutes and typed it all out. It's my first one-shot ever...and I'm quite proud of it. Please tell me what you think!
