A/N: Just cleaning out my fanfic notebook now that I'm done with school and momentarily unemployed. XD This fic was inspired by the Demon!Glee gifs that were circulating around tumblr (because I have quite happily become a tumblr addict), and this one in particular:

Disclaimer: Glee is not mine, and neither is the gif that inspired this fic. Both are quite lovely tho. :)

"You'll fit in around here soon enough, I promise," Blaine said kindly.

Kurt looked up at him from beneath his lashes, trying to smile convincingly. Something odd flashed in Blaine's eyes, but it was there-and-gone before he could pinpoint it. He shook his head, sighing.

"I'm sure I will," he agreed. His hands clenched in his lap as he averted his eyes again. "I had hoped it would begin more smoothly than it did at McKinley, but…" Kurt broke off with another shake of his head. He was glad of the trust he could put in Blaine now; he wasn't sure he could have said this to anyone else. "Being special is wonderful…it's who I am. But sometimes I swear I'd sell my soul to be considered normal for once."

"Hn."

Kurt looked up at Blaine's amused snort, stung and with a razor-sharp retort ready on his tongue. It died away rapidly when he got a good look at the other boy.

The flash of whatever it had been had come again, to stay this time. Blaine's pupils swept out over iris and sclera, drenching his eyes in vast, glossy blackness. Kurt swallowed, his hand clenching reflexively on the corner of the bench cushion beside him. He couldn't break gaze with Blaine, those strange blank eyes set in opposition to the gentle face around them. Kurt felt suddenly numb and shaky, a chipmunk finding itself staring down a wolf.

He made a cursory attempt at a run for it, barely getting to feelingless feet before Blaine's hand shot out and grabbed him by the wrist. Blaine drew him in close, the hand restraining but disturbingly gentle on his arm. Kurt could see himself, wide-eyed and petrified, reflected twice in those pit-like black eyes. Blaine's normally passive smile stretched into cruelty.

"I believe that can be arranged."
