A/N : Here we go ! Each day, I'll write and post a Naruto ficlet here. I don't know when I'll stop. When I run out of inspiration, of course, but I don't know how long it'll last. English is not my first language and this is my first attempt at writing in English, so please tell me if there's any mistakes. Oh, and I know that writing the number of words seems silly, but it helps me to keep the ficlets as short as I can, so... bear with me ?

Kousuke Kobayashi was a perfectly normal citizen of the Land of Fire, and he was damn proud of it. His inn was known for being warm and welcoming. The food was good, and the sheets were always fresh and clean.
But Kousuke, like many citizens, thought ninjas were soulless. He has heard of too many battles and other horrifying stories to believe that his world was a world of peace. Ninjas brought death and destruction wherever they went, that wasn't new. Everybody was always nodding approvingly everytime Kousuke refused to let ninjas stay for the night at his inn.
One day, four ninjas came to the village, and asked for food. Three of them were just kids, so Kousuke's wife let them eat. She was too kind, Kousuke thought. But then the blond brat whined for more ramen, while the girl yelled at him and the other boy sighed, and even Kousuke found himself laughing at the young ninja's antics. He gave the kid a third bowl of noodles and commented his appetite. The only adult of the group looked at him for a moment, and said :
"Well, we're human too, aren't we ?"
After that day, Kousuke's door was always open for the ninjas of Konoha.
