Short, stupid one-shot that shot out of me after reading the wonderful, horrifying Monochrome Beats by SaturnXK. It's definitely of a higher level. I just wanted to get this out before it kills me. ;_;
He wants, no, needs her. It was as simple as that.
He had been living for a long time. A lonely soul who sought solace with tricks and pranks, and filled the aching abyss in his heart with the laughter of children with relentless fervor despite knowing that it would never be enough.
He had believed that, hey, maybe he was doomed to this fate. Maybe, he had been a really bad kid in his past life, and that he had done something really wrong and was now cursed to suffer this cruel torment. And he had believed in that for a lonely century.
Then, he met her. This perfect witch who could see him, and he began to think, maybe he wasn't cursed to live the rest of his miserable existence as a ghost with the ability to freeze the noses off unsuspecting faces.
She was miserable but kind, she wore small smiles to hide her fears and rubbed her hands raw trying to hold in her essence. She was sorrowfully beautiful, and her life consisted of duties and suffering. And he had never seen anyone more wonderful.
So for a blessed few weeks, he became all she had, and she was his.
He made her laugh, let her cry, made her breathe and coaxed her out of her carefully built shell with kind words, mischievous smiles and non-stop pranks. For a time, he taught her to be the beauty she truly was.
But, complications had to creep in. Sly fingered fools who only looked for treasure after it was uncovered. Suddenly, letters came flooding into his queen's chambers, professing love, offers of marriage, of land and kids. She was overwhelmed, and he was disgusted.
What did they know about his little snowflake? How dare they! She was his, and his alone, even if he were invisible to all but her.
For a time, he did nothing, the ice dragon coaxed to dormant state by the promise of her loyalty. But when she actually confessed to considering one of them, the dragon saw red and showed his fangs for the first time in a century.
His rage brought winter to lands months before their time, and encased the world beyond in its cold, frosty grip.
Impatient by nature, he hadn't waited for the horror of her eventual courtship to progress further beyond the first correspondence. Immediately after his queen had confessed, he had turned upon her, his tall build looming over her petite one.
She looked up innocently, those bright, bright blues unaware, unknowing, sitting in her pretty face with its alabaster skin. He smiled tenderly down at her, his eyes as frigid as hers were once dead, caressed her smooth cheek with his cold, cold hand and watched as her beauty was slowly immortalized by his particular brand of winter.
"Stay with me forever, Elsa." He murmured, watching her eyes widen as she found understanding at lightning speed. "I love you."
And his ice sealed away the last tear she shed, just as it trickled down her face.
