Adam and Eve
Based on the movie "Hawaii", starring Julie Andrews, Max von Sydow, and Richard Harris. I don't own a thing.
He now knew how Adam felt when Eve offered him the apple. They lay in bed together, her arms wrapped around his waist, her soft curves pressing against his back.
"Skin is but flesh, and flesh is corruption incarnate!" Abner declared.
"Flesh was given us by God too," Jerusha replied.
"As a burden, as a temptation. The temptation you are to me at this very moment," he said, looking away from her.
"That's one of the purposes of marriage, isn't it?" she asked.
"Not when it drives the thought of God from my mind. I begin to feel that... that I am utterly depraved. I think of nothing but your loveliness, Jerusha," he said, feeling incredibly guilty for saying so.
"Is it possible for anything to seem lovely without God wanting it so?" she said, he played her trump card. She propped herself up on her elbow and slowly leaned down to kiss him. He responded passionately, almost violently, and rolled her onto her back as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
Later, as they lay in their narrow bed aboard the ship, Abner kissed her lightly.
"I love you, Jerusha," he whispered.
"I love you, too, Abner," she whispered. She even believed it was true.
