"A trick? A lie? I should've known! I should've seen the signs! Who was I to think that you of all people would be able to kill a dragon!" Stoick's loud voice echoed through the dimly lit Hall as he violently threw Hiccup to the floor. Okay, that statement hurt. A lot. As true as it was, it still struck Hiccup like a thousand knives.
"I tried to tell you that I couldn't kill a dragon but you wouldn't listen! In fact, I recall it being a very one-sided conversation! But tell me something I don't know about you, Stoick!" Hiccup replied exasperated, angry that his father wouldn't listen to him.
Okay, so maybe Hiccup did break the biggest law in the Viking universe, but in his defense, he did try to warn Stoick that he couldn't kill a dragon so Stoick shouldn't of been as surprised as he was when he found out Hiccup had befriended their mortal enemy.
Stoick, being the stubborn Viking that he was, refused to look at where he went wrong; he himself, had always said that Hiccup could never be a dragon killer, just like Valka. Here he was, screaming his lungs out at Hiccup, yet, he never blew up at Valka when she prevented someone from killing a dragon. This was hardly fair.
"What did you just call me?" Stoick suddenly whispered; a stark contrast to his usual loud demeanor. "Correct me if i'm incorrect by assuming that your name is 'Stoick'" Hiccup snarked, exasperated by Stoick's ignorance. Stoick gave him his famous death glare, which would usually shut Hiccup up or make him lose his confidence and start mumbling. Any sensible person who saw this glare would've known that they should immediately stop talking if they wanted to live to see another day.
However, Hiccup didn't always make the best choices.
This time, Hiccup stood strong and mocked his father by crossing his eyes and sticking out his tongue while impersonating Stoick's glare. If Stoick wasn't so furious, he would've found the face amusing; Hiccup really knew how to get under someone's skin when he wanted to.
Stoick the Vast promised that he would never lay a finger on his son when Valka was killed. He was too special to him to ever harm in any way.
But dear reader, please remember to only make promises you can keep.
Dun Dun Dun! What is Stoick gonna do? Until next time!
Pineapples16 out :)!
