Bulma cuddled up close to her husband, they were in bed but neither was asleep. They were simply lying there enjoying each other's company. They had been doing that a lot over the past few days since Buu had been destroyed, and Bulma wasn't complaining.

She ran her fingers across his chest, she knew where every scar was. She probably knew them better then he did.

The prince ran his fingers up and down her shoulder in return.

"Vegeta?" She said quietly,

"What is it, woman?" He asked, shifting his position slightly so he could see her better.

"When you sacrificed yourself to try and stop Buu…. Did you really do that for me and Trunks?" Bulma knew she was asking him to ditch his pride to admit he gave a damn about them.

Vegeta was silent for a moment before saying, "Why else would I do it?"

Bulma smiled and cuddled up closer to him, so he could admit he cared… "When I found out that you'd done that, I was kinda worried that we wouldn't be able to get you back and…"

The Saiya no ouji could hardly believe she'd think about that, humans were so weak.

Vegeta kissed her forehead and brought both his arms around her, "You don't have to ever worry about that, woman. I'll always be here to protect you…"

Bulma cuddled up even closer, so close in fact that according to the laws of physics and science she shouldn't be able to get any closer, "Promise?"

"Promise."

The he bent his head down and muttered three words too her. They were the words she'd wanted to hear him say ever since their first night together and he hadn't said untill now…

She smiled and whispered, "I love you too, my prince…"
