I have no idea where this came from...but I LOVE IT. Also: Any tips for an overheating computer? Mine now requires 2 ice bags to keep it from burning my lap. -_-'
Disclaimer: Don't own Danny Phantom, wish I did, but I don't.
What Does it Take...to Be a Hero?
What does it take?
Does it take a fancy costume?
Does it take out-of-the-ordinary powers?
Does it take cheesy catchphrases, and gadgets from a utility belt?
No.
It takes willpower.
The will to put others before yourself, the will to make sure every innocent possible is safe from danger.
It takes inner strength. The strength not to lift cars, but to persevere through the toughest of obstacles.
Whether it means the hatred of the ones you save...
Or the envy of your comrades...
Or even those you hold closest rejecting you for what you are.
It takes knowledge.
You must learn from your mistakes, and from your enemies. Learn from every defeat, and use what you learned to win.
Learn about anything and everything. Knowledge is power. Strategy and planning play a large part, and only quick thinking is available in battle.
If you fail to learn, you lose.
It takes much to be a hero. You will endure many trails that make a mere man cringe in fear.
You will earn many scars, both physical and mental. Nightmares that can never be erased from your mind.
Death will become your closest friend.
And nights when you cry to not be so alone will become more frequent.
Insanity...
Paranoia...
Fear...
But what makes it worth it?
That smile...
That sigh of relief when people realize they're going to live another day.
The small children who look up to you, proclaim you're a hero.
With all the hatred you endure, these things make it worth it.
But there is one thing that truly defines you as a hero. If not for this, your other accomplishments mean nothing.
You inspire others to fight back. Your job is to protect, serve, and inspire.
You inspire others to use courage, to fight for what they believe in, and to lead lives of selflessness. Your memory and actions cause a chain reaction. One that leads to generations of greatness.
And that, is what it takes. Remember these words, let them into your heart. For when it counts...they can show the way.
Seriously, ideas for the computer...my lap is catching fire...
REVIEW! :D
