It was a different world. A world where the world ran on the power of water. Electricity was a myth in most of the world except East Asia where China had prospered and continued to grow like a wild fire fueled by the need to explore, to know. They had discovered electricity and was hoarding the secret to themselves charging both the Korean Kingdom and Japan an arm and a leg for the key to the future. The rest of the world was restricted to Steam to power their machines. It was to the many forms of water that the rest of the world relied on for life.

It was raining in England like it was any other day and the boy was bored. Theodore McCallister the Third was the only child of the judge of the High court of England and he was therefore not like the other children. Theodore, or Tobey as he secretly liked to call himself was kept from the rest of the outside world and raised to be the right hand of the prince and future king, Revis Dandy. The majority of the commoners did not know much about the heir to the throne and their leaders. At most the people were curious but all investigations from the outside was prohibited and the people were convinced that it were for safety, which for the most part it was although it was also due to the fact that the royal family disliked being questioned or challenged.

Tobey looked lazily out his window at the seemingly never ending stream of rain pouring outside his window and listened to it's pitter patter on the glass. There was not a lot for him to do and he was stressed at the fact that his options were restricted. He was only ten but he was expected to take over for his mother and replace her when the royal family changed heads. When Dandy became king, Tobey would have to be there to advise him.

He got off his bed and walked down the hallway, reluctantly checking on his only friend- the prince. The hallways were designed and decorated to challenge the other palaces in the world, even Versaille although, in Tobey's opinion the building was a far cry from the living palace in France. The halls were made of marble as were the floors but the two surfaces were made of different types of marble. The halls were milky white and spotless while the floors were of a green and speckled variety. It was almost like walking through a soap bar but the smell was different. The hallways smelled more like freshly done laundry- a warm clothey smell. The mirrors were round and rimmed with red rock. The glass was supposed to be as smooth as the unbroken ice and clear as the pure waters of the tropic oceans. Instead most of them more resembled the lake water- smooth, yes- but more dotted with specks of unknown and alien particles.

After about what seemed forever, Tobey finally made it to Dandy's room. The royal servants called the young prince 'Young master Dandy' or even 'Royal Dandy'. Tobey didn't care for either and didn't have a name to call him so he simply referred to the other boy as 'Prince' or even if he was too lazy-'Friend'.

The room was quiet, meaning that the prince most likely wasn't in his room, so Tobey spun around and headed to the next place Dandy would most likely be at.
