I'm running, i can see out of the corner of my eye the tree. the ringing of the lightning still fresh in my ears. i count 10, 11, finally 12. i run faster, all i have to do is get to Peeta and i know i will be alright. i can see him ahead hes standing there calling my name, I'm so close i reach out almost grasping his hand when I'm stooped by a force field. i fall back but quickly get up, Peeta is banging on the force field. i cant hear him but i know what hes saying, i can see the outline of my name that forms on his lips. by now I'm screaming his name
"Peeta" i can see a wave of water splash over him, drowning him, and there's nothing i can do. the water washes away reveling nothing there, as if Peeta was never there in the first place. i can hear the cannon go off and i look up to the sky, while the sound of Peeta's screams swirls around me i can see not the face of Peeta but Snow, i can see the smile that spreads across his face, and the air fills with the smell of a mix of both roses and blood. i wake up in a cold sweat, tears pour down my face and i scream "Peeta, Peeta" i see him shoot up next to me, i can feel his strong arms wrap around me, he pulls me close to his chest and stokes my hair
'Shh, Katniss its ok"i look up at him
"He got you Peeta, he took you away from me" i didn't even have to say who it was, because he already knew.
"No he didn't, I'm still here" i just sit there and cry, until i look up at him, he brushes hair out of my face and wipes tears off of my cheeks. i look into his piercing blue eyes that shine bright even in the dark room. "I'm not going anywhere"
"I know" he cups my face and kisses me sweetly, i lean my forehead against his and whisper "I love you" he smiles
"I love you to" i lay down in the crook of him arm and can finally relax
"Stay with me" as i close my eyes and drift off to sleep i can hear the faintest words of
"Always"
