A car pulled up right outside of Constance, making the person inside sigh. Cambria Smith just moved to the great city of New York from her home town Fort Worth, Texas. She was not as excited as her parents were to say the least.
"Mom, are you sure I have to go here?? I mean you pick me up and move me to NYC my first year of high school. Can't we just consider the homeschooling?" Cambria asked her mom pleading knowing it wouldn't really work. Her mom looked up at her from her iPhone and smiled softly putting it down by her side
"Darling, I know that you're not too happy with us right now. But your father and I needed to be in New York more for business and it just didn't make sense to fly from Dallas to New York every other week. You'll love it here, the ladies at the country club say that all of manhattan's elite goes to Constance. It's a sure fire way to get into an Ivy League, just like you've always dreamed."
Cambria sighs and looks out the window seeing two girls, a brunette and a blonde who seem like the "it" girls. She turns back to her mom
"But what if no one likes me here mom."
"Darling, they'd be crazy not to. Now go on, you're going to be late for your first day of classes and that's not a good first impression"
She smiles and says her goodbyes to her mother before getting out of the car. Once she closes the door, the car drives off and she sighs again readjusting her backpack on her shoulder. She looks around her and starts walking towards the front of the school when someone bumps into her making her drop her book and phone onto the ground.
"Oh. Oh my god I'm so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going"
"Yeah, that's pretty obvious, but it's fine. No harm no foul." She looked up to see a kid her age with brown eyes and short brown hair. "I'm Cambria. I'm new here"
He helps her stand up and holds out his hand "Dan. Dan Humphrey."
"Humphrey? That's not a name I recognize" she says and flips her long curled brown hair over her shoulder.
"No, it wouldn't be. I'm not apart of the Upper East Side, I'm from Brooklyn"
She smiles softly and looks at the time
"Well I gotta go, see ya around Brooklyn"
She walks the steps towards Constance and stops by the blonde and brunette she saw earlier.
"Um. Sorry, don't mean to interrupt, but I was wondering if you could tell me where my first class is. Intro to French?"
The brunette looks at her up and down.
"So you must be the new girl. Moved from Texas?"
"Uh. Yeah, that's me. My name's Cambria Smith"
"Wait, isn't your dad William Smith? The famous Lawyer? And your mom Evelyn Smith? The designer?" The blonde asks, joining in on the conversation
Cambria smiles sheepishly, not that she's ashamed of her parents, she's just tired of living in their shadow.
"Yep. That's them. They decided to move up here, make it more effective as my mom would say"
"Hmm well, why don't you join us for lunch today?? And lucky for you I have intro to French first period as well"
"Oh. Well thank you, I'd love to join you two for lunch uhh"
"Blair. Blair Waldorf"
"And I'm Serena Van Der Woodsen" the blond said "I'm excited to learn more about you Cambria. You seem sweet"
The three of them made their way into the building, already talking like they've been best friends for years.
