I wake up, get dressed, wash my face, eat breakfast, brush my teeth, go to school, go home, watch TV until I go to bed. That's my life. Rarely anything changes. But this morning was special. This morning instead of washing my face I turned in the news on the morning. My mother had been on a business trip for the last three days. Today she was coming home. The news showed the story of a woman dying in a car accident. I noticed the cars license plate. It was my mothers. This event shaped out how the rest of the day was going to be, an absolute nightmare.
After doing my normal schedule while crying all the way through I realized the teachers wouldn't know of the matter of my mother dying, it had happened to recently. That means I have to go to school, and at least tell them what had happened. So I made my way to the bus stop. It was windy that day. I remember because my brown hair kept getting in the way.
Maybe I should tell some things about myself. My name is Jack, I'm 16 years old, about average height and I have brown hair. I like video games, guns and nice looking cars. The day my mother died changed everything, my outlook on life, how I react to different things and my grades. There isn't much to me. I'm pretty average and not very interesting, yet in any case. Now, back to the story.
I went to school feeling down, my friends kept asking me questions like "What's wrong?" or "What's the matter?" but I shrugged them all off. They decided to leave me be, they'd hear the next day anyways. Of course they didn't know that. I made it through school that day just fine, not telling the teachers because they'd make a big fuss out of it. I kept ALMOST breaking into tears, but stopped myself. i had the issue of bullies. They'd beat me up nearly everyday and my teachers didn't do squat to stop them and my friends were to scared. Today's beating felt especially rough, as if they saw my weakness and used it to their advantage. Beating extra hard.
When I got home I realized the adoption service would come pretty quickly. I locked all the doors and windows turned off all lights and pretended I wasn't home. Then I went to sleep. I dreamt an odd dream that night. A shining light came up to me and a loud booming voice spoke to me. "I have seen your troubles, child." the voice said. "And they shall be no more." "What is this place" I asked curiously. "Your own personal utopia. All that you want and wish for are here." Responded the voice. Looking around there was a very large arcade, a shooting range and a garage filled with nice cars. And there, in the middle of everything, stood my mother. Her long blond hair blocking view from one of her baby blue eyes. I ran up to her, tears in my eyes and hugged her tightly. "Don't ever leave me again mom" I whispered. "I promise I never will" she responded softly. Then, I woke up.
Authors notes: That was the prologue of your typical HiE story, I hope you like it. Please tell me about ANYTHING I can get better at. Pacing, punctuation, etc. Thanks for reading!
