The Head Gamemaker watches from side-stage as the President slowly mounts the steps to announce the newest Quarter Quell. This time, there is no drawn out recollection of the previous Quells; instead, President Vetrios chooses the envelope marked "125" and reads it aloud.
"The last Quarter Quell was a mercy, and this year is both a blessing and a curse. Thus is your curse: for the Fifth Quarter Quell, forty-eight tributes will be reaped, four from each district, two boys and two girls. No volunteers will be accepted, with the exception of siblings volunteering for their sibling's place, and thus is your blessing: no two children will be reaped from the same family. And twelve Victors will return home, one from each district."
Great. More tributes than normal, and only six months to expand the arena. Good thing she already had it built big.
Hi, folks! I know you're all thinking "Wow, she hasn't finished the 99th Games or the 4th Quarter Quell, what is she thinking?" I'm thinking that I won't accept tributes for this until either the 99th Games or the other Quell is finished, so y'all don't need to worry about me trying to juggle three SYOT games at once. This also gives you a heads-up to anyone who wants to submit a tribute: start planning how these tributes are going to work out. Put "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date" on the tribute form so I know you read this whole thing. It's going to be interesting, having non-volunteers from the Career districts, but I'm excited to see what I get. ALSO, I am BEGGING that you do your best to give me some names not seen before in SYOT's – completed ones, that is. No more Pix's or Volt's or Chip's or the like from District 3, know what I mean? Something interesting. Use a foreign name, I have no problems with spelling. Just make it something new.
