"Dear Diary,
My name is Luna. I am fourteen years old, and this (you!) is my new diary. In this I hope to write all my thoughts, feelings and events that happen in my life. Wow, that sounded formal!
Anyway, I guess whoever reads this later on, and who doesn't know me, should want to have a little information about me, right? Well, I have long, curly black hair, and I tie two buns on top either side of my head. All my friends say it looks really kawaii. I have sort of dark brown eyes (not too dark, though) which are quite big, I guess. I have a small nose and my father calls me Kitty because when it's cold my nose turns pink and father says I look like a kitten. The boys at my school don't really pay attention to me because I am "too studious". This doesn't really bother me much as I have my friends there for me. Well, mostly my best friend whose called Jane. I'll talk about her later because I have so much to write!
After school today, my father broke the news to me; we were moving to Tokyo. I really don't want to leave America; after all it is my home. And what could possibly be in Tokyo? My father's boss said he had to transfer to this new office building in the city. What does my father do? Well he works on a children's show called Sailor Moon, which is about a mythical girl who fights evil in Japan. Now my father has to go help make it in Japanese, which he says is a much better. I honestly don't see how it could be. All in Japanese? I don't speak a word of it! Let alone my mother or father!
So, we're moving in one week. I have to say goodbye to all my friends, pack up and leave. So much for giving me notice. I can honestly say I do not want to go!
Oh, hang on. Daddy's calling me, I'll write more tomorrow. Lot's of love,
Luna "
Luna rested her pen down on her bed and sighed. She pulled herself up from lying on her stomach while writing in her diary. She called to her father who was now yelling her name loudly up the stairs, "I'm coming, father!" She walked slowly out her room and stood at the top of the stairs, giving her father an unfriendly glare.
"Luna, dinners ready! We're getting ready for Japan and having Sushi tonight!" He sounded cheerful.
"I don't want dinner." She retorted dryly. 'I refuse to have anything to do with Japan while I'm still here. She resolved silently in her head, returning to her room after her father shrugged and left he bottom of the stairs.
