River stood over the corpse of a Blue Hand. Gun in hand she watched the blood begin to pool on the floor. One down, forty-nine more to go.

Stepping over the body, she calmly paced down the white, sterile corridor. This place haunted her dreams every night. This place had destroyed her. Now she would destroy it.

Turning a corner River raised her gun and let off three rapid shots into the skull of an unsuspecting scientist. Bullet in the brain pan. Squish. Two down, forty-eight more to go.

She made her way through the building leaving a trail of carnage in her wake. Coming up behind a Blue Hand River aimed a well placed kick to his throat, successfully snapping it. Forty-nine down one more to go.

The doors slid open with a quiet whoosh and the former government assassin walked with her dancer's grace into the lab. The man in the room didn't notice her entrance, all the better for her. River chose her steps carefully, not wanting to alert the man to her presence. She stopped half a foot behind him, reached out and pinched the nerve cluster the Operative had been so fond of. The man froze, his equipment clattering to the metal desk.

Leaning in River whispered in his ear, "Do you remember me?"

The paralyzed man spluttered.

River let out a malicious laugh. "All the pain I felt going back in forth in my mind. It all lead back to you. Now you will feel only a fragment of that pain."

She pulled back from the man and took out a serrated blade hidden in her boot. The man's eyes widened in fear. River's face became that of the truly insane.

Pressing the blade the man's skull, she made the first incision.

After the man was a bloody mass on the floor, River activated her commlink, "Come and take me away."
