He knew the instant that he jumped he would not regret it. He was almost to the point of ecstasy at just the very thought of it and he relished in the fact that he would truly be back home. What Luke didn't know or understand, however, was that his destiny was just a broken record and that there was no turning back or a second chance for him.

His body missed the subway transit by a few seconds. Had he not been so enraptured in his thoughts, he may have timed things better. A small blonde haired girl pointed and screamed as he landed beside the railroad tracks. Soon others joined in and the paramedics were called, trying to save the life that did not want saving. Luke cursed inwardly. His carelessness should not have gotten the better of him. People had seen. They knew. He wanted to die. And even though Luke had been living for over one hundred years continually being suppressed in this Hell, he absolutely loathed the thought of being confined here forever.

The paramedics arrived in due time and took him away to the hospital. Nervous glances told him how unwelcome he, the crazy person, was.

"I'm not crazy," he tried to assure them. They looked at each other and then one pulled out a syringe and sedated him. While Luke was in his foggy state of mind, he heard voices. The nurses, he thought. He'd probably arrived at the hospital. But as he listened, he could decipher a couple of words here and there. Die. Live. Kill. He didn't know what to make of it. Was he back? Was this death again? No, he told himself. Death was bliss. Death was everything you ever wanted so DIE AGAIN.

"He's waking!" Bright lights filled Luke's vision and blurred his eyes.

"Impossible!" A deep male voice boomed. "That sedative should've lasted much longer!"

"Sir!" A shaky yell sounded. Luke had begun to sit up, pulling himself free of all the wires and straps holding him down.

"Restrict him!" Hands gripped at him, but Luke persevered and stood up, trembling only slightly. He had to die. Right NOW. A nearby scalpel caught his attention. He had never died by stabbing. He didn't hesitate for a second as he leapt for the medical tool and plunged it deep into his ribcage. Doctors were yelling and one nurse fainted as Luke's eyes drifted to a close. With what little energy he had left, Luke smiled only ever so slightly as he strolled into oblivion.
