A poem from Eowyn's POV going through three stages of her life - childhood, her actions in LOTR and as a wife and mother.
One night I dreamed I ran away
I ran and never looked back
A child's imagination painting
A tapestry of adventure
Riding into the sunset
Without the thought of night
One night I dreamt I took a horse
I took a horse and joyously rode away the acres
A sleepydust quest
Seeking peril
Without the thought of pain
One night I dreamt I wore a sword
I wore a sword and saved the world
An impossible dream
I woke up.
One day I ran away
I ran away and never looked back
A reality flash, bright as the sun,
The whole world stretched before me
Riding into the sunset
The Night closed in
One day I took a horse
I took a horse and covered the acres, heart pounding
Wide awake, mind buzzing,
Seeking peril
And the Pain closed in
One day I wore a sword
I wore a sword and used it well
Against a terrible nightmare
I woke up.
Last night I dreamt I ran away
I ran and then looked back
My child's imagination painting
A tapestry of adventure
Dreaming into the sunset
Never doubting the night
Last night I dreamt I took a horse
I took a horse but never crossed the threshold
My husband's sleepdust head
Safe from peril
Peaceful on the pillow
Last night I dreamt I wore a sword
I wore a sword and stitched with it
A vision of hope
I woke up and the dream was real.
