Chapter 3: Just a little further

The test was getting a little more intense, Nara was just noticing the deep dark secret to Gaara's power. Nara became terrified, her legs and hands began to shake immensely and her eyes widened at the sight of the beast Gaara was prepared to let run a muck. Her shock was indescribable and easily noticeable; her arms rose up as she reached for him. Her eyes were beginning to tear up and her arms and hands where trembling with terror, she wanted so badly to just grab the hand of the beast she'd loved so much. Gaara's sand armor had cracked as he fell to the ground; the sand in Gaara's Gourd had broken his fall still inflicting damage on him. Lee was at his breaking point and couldn't go any longer; Gaara saw this as an opportunity to crush Lee where he stood. Gaara's sand quickly came to Lee crushing his left arm and leg, Lee screamed in agony and pain. Gaara was ready to sweep in for the final attack, the attack that would kill this young taijutsu master. Gaara's attack was deflected by the green beast of the hidden leaf village, Might guy. Gaara's eyes widened in surprise that a Sensei would go so far as to protect his student, but Guy and Lee had a special bond, one that cannot be broken by hatred. Hayate had stopped the match, in favor of Gaara who was beaten to his limit as well. Gaara wondered back up the stairs to his team who had been appalled by the battle that just took place before their vary eyes; Nara was the most scared of them all. Nara who had trembled and let her emotions show made no eye contact with Gaara, she was too terrified to. Temari who had stayed quiet this whole time looked at Nara, she felt bad, "She never knew what he was like…I wouldn't blame her for being scared, and I still scared of him at this very moment." Temari thought to herself as she glanced at Gaara. Kankuro was at a loss for words, there were no words for the terror he felt. Gaara was a monster.

After this battle nobody had the words to speak, no one could speak especially after what had happened. Nara ran her right hand up and down her left forearm, her eyes wondered to look at her feet. "I don't understand…..He's not how I remembered..." Nara thought as she glanced over her shoulder to Gaara who hand no emotion for what had happened, no facial expression what so ever. "Well, Were done here, each of you already had a match. There's no need to stay here any longer." Baki uttered trying to break the silence. They all walked down the stairs leaving the battle hall, all but Nara who stayed to see everyone else fight. This is a day Nara would never forget, as long as she lived.
