WARNING: This isn't a proper chapter.

This is just a preview of what is to come! Feel free to Fav/Follow if you want to see more! I'm just leaving this here while I work on the chapters, and this will also act as a guide for me as I write. Feel free to ask questions or throw suggestions or theories to keep for the record at me in the reviews.

It doesn't really have any important spoilers in it, so no worries there.

The previews end at about the time the second part will start.

"Are you a god… Kaida-sama?"

"…as far as I remember, I'm a blind fool. But I suppose mere mortals might mix the two up."

-Let it Lie-

The night of the Uchiha massacre left three siblings in agony. One, he who came first, with a shattered heart. Two, the child that always came second, with a broken mind. And finally, the one that always came somewhere between nowhere and last, was left with two gaping holes where there once resided gateways to the soul.

She was only three days old.

PREVIEWS

(part I)

"Niisan… why don't we have parents?"

There is silence, but I can be patient. Sometimes. I felt the gust of a long, drawn-out breath on my skin, and knew my patience would be rewarded.

"Because… sometimes, family fails us."

"Eh? I don't get it, Niisan."

There was a hesitation, before I felt a finger press against my forehead, and before I could stop it, my head snapped back at the force of his poke. I yelped and stumbled back, tripping on my own feet and landing on my butt.

Despite this, I waited with bated breath for his response.

But it never came.

-Let it Lie-

"Hey Kaida-chan, I'm going to be Hokage one day, you know that?"

"Shut up, Konohamaru! You've told me like 500 times! Hurry up and pass me the paint. We need to finish this before your Grandpa finds out!"

-Let it Lie-

"No, no Kaida-chan, that's not it. See you pull your lips down for it to work! Let's use Neji as a demonstration, he's always frowning! Here, feel his face."

I felt gentle, warm fingers take my hands and they were pressed against the cheeks of another. I felt the creases of the other's lips deepen and heard the third member of the team giggle nearby.

"Lee, stop this at once. I am not getting paid on this mission to act as your emotion guinea pig."

-Let it Lie-

The Pout was useful, for even my ANBU guard would falter at my unrelenting cuteness-

"Inside," Neko growled once more, and I winced as I found myself dangling in the air as I was carried back into the house by the back of my shirt.

-Let it Lie-

"Hey Naruto, want to have a pranking contest?"

"Wow Kaida-chan, you are so much cooler than your brother! But um, how are you gonna do that if you're like… you know… blind?"

I warped my features into an expression into the Evil Intentions smile Team Gai taught me.

"That's what my assistant Konohamaru is for!"

-Let it Lie-

"The Will of Fire… its meaning is different for everyone. Maybe one day you will find it too, Kaida."

"Have you found your Will of Fire, Niisan?"

There is a laugh in response, but it a cold, humourless sound. It made my blood freeze in my veins.

"I only have one goal in life. Maybe I'll tell you, one day."

-Let it Lie-

"It's a dragon," he explained as I'd explored the soft material, tracing the lines of the body shape. It had strange protrusions from its back that had caused me to falter at the unfamiliarity.

"Dragons are an imaginary creature, but I thought you'd like it. They breathe fire, just like the jutsu our clan used to teach."

-Let it Lie-

"She's blind," the man murmured, his voice tinged with wry amusement. It was a soft velvety voice; silky and smooth, unlike any I had ever heard before. It probably would have been soothing, if not for the fact he was holding me captive.

Then the other unknown identity spoke.

"Unfortunate. That explains why she's been kept off the record."

Another male, younger by the sounds of it, his tone depicting his annoyance. The man with his hand muffling me laughed, a low melodic sound, as if he found the statement amusing.

I began to thrash, sadly forced to abandon Mr. Munch, and threw my hands out towards the man holding my jaw shut, hoping to maybe hit his eyes or yank his hair, but with a single smooth movement I found myself deftly swept into his arms, pressed against a hard chest.

I was terrified, but I moved anyway. My hands worked their way frantically across the body holding me. My hands found broad shoulders covered by thin, slightly stretchy material. The type of material that would allow for easy movement and reduced sweating. There was silky hair, too, falling across his shoulders in a long, dead-straight wave until the middle of his back. There weren't many men that had hair as well kept and silky as his.

Frantically my hands traced downwards, following the fabric. It was the generic long-sleeved shinobi shirt, which didn't tell me much. I changed tack, pressing my hands to the torso I was held against. A vest, slightly different to the flak jacket of Konoha that normal chunin wore, or the reinforced ANBU vest I knew of. The zip and pockets were slightly altered in placement. A foreigner, then.

Chunin at least, but I was hedging my bets on a jounin. With the chunin exams, it was possible that one of the jounin instructors of a genin team had managed to slip away from wherever he was meant to be staying until his team finished. The other man in the room had a younger voice and was possibly part of the genin team or another instructor from the same village.

To find the final answer to my analysis, my hands worked their way upwards, sliding up the warm, soft skin of a throat, past an adam's apple and towards the head. My fingers were unhindered in their journey. They paused tremulously next to thin lips that were stretched wide, and I felt the creases in his cheeks and quirk to his lips that indicated the man was smiling. Why was he smiling?

In any case, my hands slid up further across high cheekbones and impossibly smooth skin, apart from the crinkling around his eyes indicating his amusement. I briefly considered the wisdom of poking his eyes out or ripping his long lashes off his face but decided against it. There was still a tiny voice in the back of my head telling me that this might still be an ally that was wearing a new, updated vest.

I finally came across the forehead protector. My fingers fumbled across the cool metal, hoping against hope that this was all some joke that was being played on me.

But when I finally felt the indent of the headband's symbol, it wasn't the spiral of Konoha with the little triangle on one side. In fact, my brother had once described each of the nation's insignia, but this didn't match any that he had mentioned.

A vertical line, with a small oval attached to the bottom, and a wavy line attached to the top. Niisan had told me about music notes before, and I was fairly certain that this was the shape he had described.

What village had a music note as their insignia?

.

. Want to know the truth, Kaida-chan?

.

. You and your brother aren't the only survivors.

.

. You have another brother…

A/N: So, this is my idea for a fic! I hope you like it! Now I just gotta get around to writing the chapters lol.

Keeping in mind this is just the previews for the first part when Kaida is four to five (except the very last part).

As for Part II, well, that'll be where the company drastically changes but it'll still be a lot of fun!

I might have to have it as a separate fic to accommodate the drastic change. So, Part I might end up only being like 5 chapters but we'll see. I'm hoping to make each part possible to be a read-alone fic.
