Looking out into the window
Gazing into the midnight blue sky.
All I want is for you to come home
To wrap your strong arms around my waist
Protecting me from the evil called life.
I long to see your carefree grin
And hear the ringing sound of your laughter.
In the dead of night, when all is black
On the sheets, under the duvets
I dream, dreaming deeply, I dream of you.
You come to me with an outstretched hand
Offering me to join you, regardless of the rules.
Suddenly, as I reach out, you've disappeared from my sight
I'm startled awake, beads of sweat running down my face
Sitting on the bed, just before dawn, once again I am alone.
