Author's Note: Thank you for visiting this page and reading my story. Writing is sort of a new thing for me and I am eager for feedback to improve myself. As a little background, my friends and I are big RWBY fans and Weiss is my favorite of the team. My friends however like to make fun of the fact that she doesn't seem to know how to use the pointy end of her weapon. The lack of violence and death in, what really is if you think about it, a damn violent world has also sparked some heated discussions. With these things in mind, I started to wonder about certain situations and ta-dah! The story below. I hope you enjoy it.

A game, that's all this is to them she thought while speeding through the dense foliage of this humid hell hole. The sweat was a constant, uncomfortable companion in this region of Remnant and the idea of a shower drove Weiss Schnee on more than anything else. Though her life was important too; after all, you can't take a shower if you're dead.

She smirked at her own joke, the dark humor relieving the stress of the situation somewhat. This is all your fault she reminded herself as she continued on, listening for those tracking her. If you hadn't been so damn arrogant the others would be here with you. But no, you had to run off by yourself. You were so desperate to prove yourself right…

A loud snapping sound occurred behind her. A branch breaking from their oafish attempts to get the scouting advantage?

"Animals." Weiss muttered to herself, masking her worry over their distance with disdain for their characters. She had to keep moving. She needed to find some area or characteristic of this place that might give her an advantage. Or, at the very least, a place to hide and figure out Plan B.

Doubt and worry began to grow as this chase went on. This is a game, she repeated to herself, they had me and could of killed me; but hunting down a Schnee like an animal? Now that was an opportunity the White Fang would never pass up on. And to think Blake defended these monsters…

"They're not even part of the White Fang!" Blake argued back to Weiss' opinion on this mission, speaking louder than usual to overcome the noise of their transport "They're a small cell that split from the actual organization over a year ago and relocated here in the wilds to avoid reprisal."

"They are responsible for the deaths of over three-hundred people." Blake attempted to say something but Weiss finished first "Humans AND Faunus."

"Which is why we are investigating them, that and their connection to the dirtier work of Torchwick" Blake crossed her arms, resigned.

"You mean scouting the area for an increase in suspected Grimm activity." Yang cut in to relieve the tension. She alluded to the actual mission that they had signed up for, not the reason they had actually travelled out here. Blake and Weiss were silent now. "Good, quiet. Look, we need to work together on this." She looked back and forth between them before finishing "We can't do everything alone…."

She needed to stop soon. This chase had gone on for the past thirty to forty minutes, Weiss wasn't entirely sure, and some rest was needed. This part of the plan she knew. They would wear her out and then strike when she was too weak or tired to fight back.

"Hah" she laughed to herself; they would be sorely surprised if they thought she would ever be weak enough for that.

Weiss needed to hide somewhere, maybe take them by surprise. But how? They would smell her once she got close, hell they could probably smell her know. She needed to mask her scent somehow, force them to lose track and then strike.

A plan began to form…

They moved through the underbrush as silently as possible, alert for any sign of Grimm or human activity. Blake had taken point, her keen ears and vision making her an ideal scout. Yang followed behind her, looking ready for a fight to happen. Well, looking ready for anything to happen really, the past three hours of walking had done nothing for her sense of adventure. Ruby took the position behind Yang, Crescent Rose in its compact rifle form. She was looking even more fatigued than the others.

Weiss observed all three of them as she took up the rear, periodically turning around and remaining alert to the situation. The heat and humidity were beginning to affect her as well, if they didn't find anything soon, she would definitely be suggesting a break, nap included. While performing a quick check to their back she finally noticed something amiss: a figure in the distance, he had moved behind some foliage in an attempt to hide. He was too slow and Weiss smiled as she spoke.

"Stop." She called to the others, who began to make their way towards her. "I saw something."

"What?" Ruby was the first to ask as she reached Weiss first.

"I don't know." Weiss paused to consider her answer, her smile disappearing as she turned to her friends "It was fast, all I saw was a shadow ducking behind a tree. Someone is following us."

"Are you sure it wasn't your imagination?" Yang asked, her skepticism showing in her expression "We've been walking for hours and are all exhausted."

"I know what I saw." Weiss glared back, offended at the questioning. "Blake, did you hear anything, see anything?"

"No, just the same jungle noises I've been hearing for hours."

Weiss was staring in the direction of the shadow now, willing it to reappear and vindicate her.

"Let's keep moving." Ruby suggested after a few moments of silence "We need to find some place to rest." She looked around where they were standing. "Somewhere safe."

The three began to walk forward again, reforming their ad hoc formation; except for Weiss who continued to stare in the direction that she had witnessed the movement.

"Are you coming?" asked Blake, about 20 feet ahead. But as soon as her question was out, the figure appeared again, moving between the thick trees and plants, it was further back than before.

"There!" Weiss shouted, already moving in its direction and figuring the others would catch up.

The figure was running away now, but Weiss was too fast and was quickly closing the distance. She could tell it was person, human or Faunus she couldn't be sure. The distance between them closed to fifteen feet. Weiss could hear her friends shouting her name, but she was so close. She could simply subdue the target and wait. Oh, how good it felt to not be crazy.

Ten feet.

It was a Faunus. She could make out a tale, and the way it ran made it seem like it was fighting the urge to change to all fours. Was it not running as fast as it could?

Five feet.

So close, she could nearly grab him now. Weiss began to channel her semblance when the figure disappeared through thick brush. She dashed through it, ready to finish this.

Black.

They were confused now. Good, Weiss thought as she observed them a treetop. She knew there were at least five of them as well, all wearing trademark Grimm masks and boasting automatic weapons. Valuable intelligence.

Doubling back had the first step. Crossing and re-crossing paths and routes she had already traveled through. Their ability to track her scent was backfiring now. They didn't know which direction she had traveled, let alone that she was watching them now. The hunted becoming the hunter.

The next part of her plan had been significantly less enticing to Weiss: covering herself with mud and dirt to try and mask the scent even more. She doubted it would work too well, but should at least make her smell like one of the trails she left as opposed to her real person.

A nice, hot shower Weiss reminded herself for what seemed like the millionth time in the hour since she came up with this plan. She moved slowly and methodically down the tree now, careful not make a sound. It would be a waste to have spent so much effort to fool their sense of smell only to be trapped by their other enhanced senses.

Fighting all of them at once would be risky, she thought, even with the element of surprise. Not to mention the fact that she didn't know if their wee multiple parties or if these were the only ones. Rushing blindly and arrogantly into a situation had gotten her into this mess; logical moves would need to get her out.

With this in mind she picked up a small branch and ducked into the brush. With a little effort she began to bend the branch until it snapped. The nearest goon turned in her direction and began to approach, weapon raised. Weiss gripped Myrtenaster tighter.

Pain, flaring and insistent pounded through her head in waves. Weiss attempted to open her eyes but shut them immediately, the light an unwelcome shock to her senses. She attempted this several more times before success. The room slowly came into focus as her eyes adjusted.

It was dark, except for the light aimed directly at her from a stand against the wall about five feet away from where she was sitting. Weiss tried move but couldn't, restraints were keeping her firmly in the chair. Fear and panic began to set in, but she quickly suppressed them.

The others will find me. They haven't killed me yet, they not even plan to. These and other positive thoughts floated through her head as she adjusted to the situation.

A door behind her opened, creaky hinges giving it away, not an automatic door, Weiss thought, an older building than. She tried to figure out where they might have moved her as the figure of a male faunus stepped in front of her: some kind of cat faunus she figured, but big, perhaps a lion or tiger?

"Well, well Miss Schnee, I certainly hope you're comfortable. We've pulled out all the stops to ensure this." He smiled arrogantly at her "Oh, and don't worry, the dinner service will be arriving shortly, princess."

Weiss didn't respond, she simply stared him down with loathing in her eyes.

"Ah, very well. No games for us then? Just business, I should have expected that from a Schnee. After all business is all that matters to you, even more then the lives or conditions of your workers."

Again she remained silent, not wanting to be baited by him or play his game. She would need to wait for an opportunity and strike, but had to be patient for it to arrive.

He was angry now, had he expected her to argue? Or was his own reminder of the Schnee Dust Company's business practices what had rattled him?

"If you won't play my games, than perhaps you'll be interested another one?" He leaned forward while saying this, his putrid breath assaulting her nostrils. Weiss looked away but he grabbed her chin and forced her stare forward. "Your family has always treated my people like animals, that's why we slaughter them- to show that you and your workers are the real animals, with no respect for outside of how to increase profit."

The Faunus let her go now, and moved towards the light stand. He re directed it away from her eyes so that she could focus on the room ahead. The first thing Weiss noticed was another door, next she saw Myrtenaster laying on the floor near it.

"This game will show you to act like the animal you are – afraid and scared of the predators." He began again, his excitement at the prospect lighting up his eyes. "We will hunt you through this land. We will slaughter you here, far from family or friends. You are the animal now Miss Schnee."

Weiss looked back at him, doing her best to project defiance. "What are you waiting for then? Let's get this started."

"The rules Miss Schnee, the rules." He looked amused at her impatience "You are the animal here, not us. We must have rules."

Weiss narrowed her eyes, growing more suspicious of his so called "rules".

"First, we will allow you your weapon." He laughed as soon as he saw the hope in her eyes "But, we've taken out the dust cartridges. I hope you are familiar with toothpicks."

"I'm going to kill you…"

"NEXT," he interrupted her threat "we will give you a head start of five minutes, you better run fast princess."

"Anything else" Weiss asked, "I'd hate to break a rule when I win this game."

"No, that's everything you little bitch. Let the game begin…"

The first one had been easier than expected. He approached the brush without even alerting the other four. Weiss had to be quick though, and couldn't afford to risk her semblance attracting them. She waited until the fool turned around after seeing nothing then sprang from the brush, making barely a rustle. Myrtenaster slid neatly into his back, at an upward angle and penetrating his heart. Weiss followed through to the hilt and put her left hand over the thug's mouth, pulling him back into the brush. She wondered how long until they noticed he was missing.

With only four left now, she began to move to another side of them planning a similar attack on the next one.

"Where is Pythos?" she heard a voice ask. Shit. Weiss made her way up the nearest tree, they would search the local area soon.

"Over here." A calm voice stated the same voice from her capture. "He's dead."

"She's around here then." Another voice added.

"Find her!"

Weiss stayed still, barely breathing as they fanned out in two pairs. This would be more difficult than taking out one. She moved quickly to a tree in the path of one of the pairs, waiting for her moment.

It came as one walked beneath the branch, Weiss dropped behind her target and plunged her weapon through him at a straight angle. She immediately turned as his buddy took aim. Weiss kept Myrtenaster inside the first one and forced him to absorb the bullets from his friend.

"Over here!" the shooter yelled to other two.

Weiss reacted by kicking the impaled goon off of her weapon and into the shooter. He instinctively tried to catch his friend and lowered his weapon as she ran at him. He attempted to raise it once more but Weiss was already on top of him, kicking away his hand in a spin and driving her rapier into the goon's neck.

She withdrew the stab quickly and dived for cover as bullets from the other two impacted around her. The air was knocked out of her as she hit ground behind a thick tree. Weiss struggled to recover while forcing air into her lungs. She had to be fast.

They were approaching the tree she had dived behind when, unencumbered by stealth, Weiss summoned a glyph beneath her and pushed off into the air. They attempted to hit her but she already a second glyph prepared and rebounded off of it, angling herself to their right then off of another glyph toward her former hunters

They had used their ammunition in the futile attempt to hit her and now switched to melee weapons, unable to reload before Weiss reached them. She passed through the space between them, parrying both of their weapons away as she did so. Weiss landed, then immediately turned, sweeping the one on her back left and sending him to the ground. The one left standing, the Faunus who had explained the game earlier turned and swung downward with a flat, sharply edged blade. Weiss was just barely able to connect with her own weapon and direct the swing to her left. She was too focused on the blade though, as the back left hand of her attacker swung out and connected with her jaw, sending her flying to the right. Her aura shielded most of the damage, though the pain still sept through.

Weiss recovered quickly and reassessed the situation. The one she had swept was getting off the ground. The other, presumably their leader, was making his way towards her, murder written all over his face. In this split second she made her plan and began to execute it.

Weiss ran at the leader, making it seem like she meant to finish him quickly. He prepared himself and brought up his guard, but at the last instant Weiss ducked to his right and pushed off an angled glyph right next to him. She flew towards the second hunter and parried his weapon away. Before he could recover, Weiss brought her knee into his groin, reversing her grip on Myrtenaster and bringing it down into his back. She was in the air again before he even hit the ground.

"I'll fucking kill you!" screamed the former leader as he brandished his blade.

Weiss landed and he charged at her, he was forced to a stop as five glyphs suddenly appeared around him. Weiss didn't hesitate; she pushed forward and jumped between the glyphs, plunging her weapon towards her captor every time. He managed to parry two of the attacks; the other six hit their marks. Three punctures through his back and into his chest. Two slices on his neck, meant to travel through his throat but he was fast enough and dodged the stabs. Myrtenaster's sharp edges towards the hilt took care of that area though.

The last one was the easiest of all, as Weiss landed directly in front of him. He was too weak from the other attacks and in shock as blood traveled quickly from his neck down his body.

"Animal." Weiss stated as she pushed Myrtenaster through his heart.

He collapsed onto the ground after Weiss withdrew and flicked blood off of her beloved weapon. She took a moment to study the scene and ensure that all threats had been eliminated. After confirming this she searched the bodies, finding what she sought on their arrogant fool of a leader.

Taking the communications device into hand, she collapsed against a nearby tree and dialed into her team's network.

"Um, hello..?" Ruby's voice answered confusion and worry filling her tone.

"It's Weiss, Ruby."

"WEISS!" Ruby screamed, Weiss pushed the device away from her at the outburst. "We've been worried sick and searching everywhere for you. Where are you?"

"Just track me to this device's location. It's a long story."

"We'll be there as soon as we can." Ruby assured "Have you ran into any of the White Fang?"

She laughed to herself. "You could say that" Weiss paused "Like I said, it's a long story."
