It never was my fault. I had no way of knowing what was going to happen. I never even saw it coming.
It happened late one night, when I was only four. I was out playing with my best friend, Mea. The two of us got lost in the woods behind our house. Mea found her way back. I wasn't so lucky.
I heard the calling howl of a wolf somewhere. I had always loved to listen to the wolves howl. But now, alone in the dark, I was scared. I ran. I had no idea where I was going. I don't even remember where I was. All I remember was the fear. Fear. Fear is something that grips at you, snatches at you. It drags you, makes you run for your life. Fear is powerful. I was not. Then again, I was only four.
I slowed after a while. Fear knows no time. I was gasping for breath. My heart beat inside my chest. I was tired. I stumbled over to a large bolder. It was curved slightly, making a small place just right for a human to snuggle in. Well, for a four-year-old anyway. I remember that rock well.
As I lay there, shivering, I heard a howl. I froze. I had not run from the wolves, I had run into them. I buried my self under the rock. There where two of them. They where humanlike in a way. They had huge fangs, large claws, and stood, towering over me. They walked on there hind legs. Yet they where not like those werewolves in the comic books I read. These where something else. They where, well, real.
I backed away, to scared to breathe. They loomed over my rock like vultures over a carcass. I shivered. I was going to die. I just knew it. I was wrong. What happed was much worse.
One of them, the smaller, leaned over, snapping his jaws at me. I recoiled, trying to find a way to get away from those jaws. The other one leaped onto the rock and hung over the edge peering at me.
"Go away." I whispered. They barked in surprise. Suddenly, the smaller one leaped at me. Once again, I recoiled, but this time I banged against a the roof of my little cave. I yelled, but accidentally pushed myself forward. That was it, the little one lunged at me, grabbing the side of my neck. I screamed. It was more of a reflex than from actual pain. The bite tickled, and tingled, crackling like fire through my veins. It stung hard, sending wave after wave of that tingling fire through me.
The larger one pulled me gently out. He nuzzled my chin, and tilted my head, as if to get a better look at the bite. Then, only then, did they leave, running away though the forest. I heard their howling yelps fading away. I slipped into darkness then, not to awake until morning.
I was now one of them. That is how I became what I am now. Remus Lupin, werewolf.

Ghost Dancer: The was another story, but I don't like that story anymore, and I like this, sssooo... *smile*
Chibi Ginny: Ghost Dancer doesn't own Harry Potter. She owns... *looks around* A set of beat up harry potter books, a bunch of library books- oh, wait, those aren't hers. Umm... a cup- no, wait, that's her mom's cup.
Ghost Dancer: Ginny? Shut up.
