*~*~*~*
Jack had the list for a while, looking it over every couple of months or so. It was better than when he first got it. It was the list of the dead at Canary Wharf, with one name he kept on reading over and over again. He still couldn't believe that Rose Tyler was dead and he couldn't have been there to help her. He couldn't have crossed over to help Torchwood London, due to the fact that he had separated from them a long time ago. He was glad of that, save for this one moment in time. Every time he looked at the list, he hated himself a bit more for being a coward. He looked up as he heard the noise the Hub made when someone came in. He looked at the time, seeing that it was only six thirty in the morning. He got up and looked down at the Hub below, a simple smile on his face as he saw the familiar suit that Ianto Jones always wore. He was the only thing that made Jack smile some days. He put the list away and made his way quietly down the stairs.
Ianto Jones was in his own world, his mind going over what needed to be done for the day. He made sure that everything was clean before he went home last night. He needed to feed Myfanwy and make sure that the coffee was ready before anyone got in. He would check on Jack to make sure that Jack ate after feeding Myfanwy. He knew that the leader needed sleep, even though he wasn't sure that Jack slept. He got over to the coffee machine and jumped as he felt something hug him. "Oh…morning sir," he said quietly as he realized it was just Jack. He didn't mind that Jack hugged him now and then. He wouldn't mind if Jack would announce himself so he wouldn't nearly have a heart attack. He wouldn't complain though – that wasn't in his nature. "Did I wake you when I came in?"
"I was already awake," Jack replied quietly as he kept Ianto close to him. "Could you make some really strong coffee today?" He whispered.
"Of course," Ianto replied with a soft smile. "Couldn't sleep last night again?"
"Yeah," Jack replied quietly, a bit of a lie in his voice. "Thank you, Ianto," he whispered.
"You're welcome," Ianto replied. He moved his arms to start the coffee as Jack kept a hold of his waist. When he was done, he turned a bit and softly kissed Jack's cheek. "We have two hours before any of them come in."
Jack blinked and looked at Ianto. "Are you suggesting what I think you are suggesting?"
"Yes," Ianto whispered. "I want you today."
Jack smiled and just deeply kissed Ianto before taking him upstairs to his bunk. They spent the next hour and a half together before Ianto got himself ready for the rest of the team. The rest of the day was spent with little sneaks of glances between himself and Jack and grinning like mad. He was happy, for the first time in a while, and he knew that Jack felt the same way. He did an entire day's work in the first hour and a half of his day and would do so again when his Captain asked for him.
