Paradise…
A Labyrinth of rooms, each one filled with immeasurable beauty and joy, where one knows no sadness.
Welcome to your dreamland, your paradise.
.: :.
The first room is a winter wonderland. But it is not too cold or dark; sunlight filters through the branches of firs. Warm breath escapes in puffs of steam that could possibly be in the shape of whatever your imagination conjures. Swirling snow melts upon kissing your nose; frost powders the trees like lace and ice is sculptured in abstract shapes.
At the end of the room, a door you have not noticed before suddenly opens, and you run to greet it.
.: :.
The second one is in such contrast to the previous room. A ball of fire burns in a baby blue sky: cerulean waves that crash onto the shore.
In the distance, a child's laughter can be heard. The scent of vanilla and frangipanis runs wild and the atmosphere is blissfully oblivion.
And soon, another door opens and you are pulled into it like magic.
.: :.
The third room is a ballroom with both women and men dressed in elaborate dresses and waltzes of smiles. Above you, a black, crystal chandelier sparkles, catching the light. On the mezzanine, sweetmeats and pastries are laid out in a careful and precise order.
A man in a suit holds his hand out for you to take and you eagerly accept it. You always had two left feet and couldn't dance to save your life, yet you dance to the violins and cellos and whatnot.
Although his green eyes look at you and seem to smile, he doesn't say a word, not before the dance, not during the dance, not after the dance. You open your mouth to excuse yourself but nothing comes out. You gesture wildly to him, but he is already dancing with another lady.
This wasn't supposed to happen in your paradise.
And it takes a while longer to find the door and push it open yourself.
.: :.
The fourth room is a lush garden at night, with fireflies illuminating your surroundings and a crescent moon seems to smile. The night sky is clear with no clouds whatsoever.
A koi pond rests at a corner of the garden and fish that dart in and out of your sight. And what would a garden be without flowers?
Roses in red, white, pink and orange: Magnolias that almost glow white and tulips that sway in a gentle wind.
All you can do is stare and smile, but a bee flitting by stings you, the pain coursing through you.
This isn't paradise at all.
.: :.
The ground opens and you fall through a hole, screaming. But this is paradise, so nothing can hurt you, right?
You were so naïve. You always believed the voice in your head.
You fall to the ground with a thud. Your vision clears, and you gasp when you see what is laid in front of you.
It is a combination of all of the four of the rooms; a symphony at a beach under the winking stars that dot the sky. Ice sculptures of people dancing that don't seem to melt.
This is far by the best room so far.
You try to stand up and wander, but unseen forces push you down every time you try to get up.
And the paradise before you disappears, and you sob alone in your bed.
Girl, all the money and the fame, but you can't even make yourself a sanctuary.
