L gets an idea…
"So whoever touches the death note or the paper will be able to see you?" L asked holding the Death Note up with two fingers.
"Apparently so." Rem replied.
"And the pages will never run out?"
"Yes."
There was a moment of silence before L spoke up again, this time fully looking at Rem. "Shinigami-san, could you please go outside for a moment, I need time to think."
Oddly enough, the shinigami followed obediently and she passed through the walls of the twenty-fifth story of the building, vaguely wondering what the detective was planning.
A few moments later…
L walked towards the paper shredder, turned it on, and giddily ripped page after page from the notebook, humming a tune that sounded remotely like the Indiana Jones theme song.
After he had filled the bin with shredded paper, he walked towards the window, opened it, greeted Rem with a smile, and emptied the shredder bin full of death note paper out.
The paper hit lower rooftops, cars, and unsuspecting pedestrians.
Suddenly, a scream could be heard from somewhere down below. "OH MY GOD!!! Screamed a random civilian as he pointed to towards the sky and gave a girlish scream.
A few moments later again…
Light entered the room and raised a brow as he saw L's eyes glued to the television a large smile plastered on his face. Light walked towards L to get a better view of the screen the detective's eyes were glued to. It was the world news and this was their headline.
"A small population in Japan appears to be suffering from mass hallucination " a stuffy reporter stated. "Here is a live feed from the scene."
And as the camera zoomed in on the scene, the screams of the people could be heard.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"
"It's staring at me!"
One person even turned to the camera. "It's right there!!! Can't you see it?!!" he jabbed his finger towards the sky to punctuate his point.
From inside the building, Light turned towards L.
"Why the hell did you do that?"
L turned to him with big panda eyes on the bridge of tearing up and a quivering lip.
"I just wanted to have some fun."
