Vampire Run

The sound of my hurried breath filled my ears. I could feel the throbbing of my temples as I ran through this unforgiving forest. My feet thudded in a steady rhythm, but I knew that no matter how fast I ran, I couldn't escape my chaser. No one can outrun a vampire. (A.N. This is not a Twilight vampire.)

I could see the road up ahead if I could just make it into the open, I would be safe under the watch of other people. Houses lined the other side of the road. Then the houses disappeared and I was facing the floor of the forest. I had tripped over a lifted tree root.

As waited for the vampire to cover the distance between it and me, I felt the ground open up and I was falling into darkness. Above me I saw a circle of light slowly shrink and disappear...

"Granger?" I must be dead. If I wasn't I couldn't hear angels now could I? Wouldn't they call me Hermione then though? I then opened my eyes.

Draco Malfoy is definitely not an angel.

"I told you not to add the wormwood before the batwings," I mumbled as I remembered this morning's Potions class. "How long was I out?"

"A few minutes. You should be glad Snape didn't notice you out cold. It would affect my grade. Of course he would have noticed if he hadn't been yelling at Neville for trying to add the batwings before even stirring his cauldron."

I barely heard him say this. All I could think about was hoe pale Malfoy looked. Vampire pale.
