"Alex

"Alex? I'm going out to the store. Anything you need?"

"Nah, mum. I'm fine."

Alright then, be back in a tick."

"See ya."

No less then a second after my mother closed the front door, a tall, skinny man dressed in a blue pinstripe suit burst out of my closet. "God, it's stuffy in there," he complained, mopping his brow with a handkerchief. He collapsed on my bed. "Any chance for a cup of tea?"

"Exactly, how long are you planning on hiding in my closet!?" I asked him. "Seriously, it's been almost two weeks already! Can't you just, like, go or something? Why must you be here?"

"Because," he said, sitting up, "I have to stay with you."

"Why me?!"

"Because you're special."

"Oh, come on!" I said, almost shouting. "'You're special.' Is that it?! Seriously! When are you even going to tell me why you're so fascinated with me? Why do I even matter to you? Huh? And who are you, anyway? Why do I even trust you?" I burst into tears.

"Alex," he said. "You may be one of the most important people in the whole of creation."

"WHY ME?!"

And then that man, that strange, strange man, said two words.

And those two words were the start of an adventure that changed my life forever.
