Quick Author's Notes: Just a quick one-shot about Kabuto that I wrote last night at…ten-thirty, I think, while I was watching CSI: Miami. Horatio rocks out loud! Anyway…I have no idea how old Kabuto was when he was rescued from the Kikyo Pass. I only know how old he is before and after the time-skip. Enjoy, and please review :)
Sick Pleasure
Kabuto's always had a twisted mind, even as a child.
A young, seven-year-old boy was walking through the woods. It was nearly sunset—the sky was alight with long, dancing streaks of orange and gold tinged with the faintest trace of light pink and deep red. The bright beams of light lanced through the forest's thick canopy, causing dappled shadow patterns to appear on the boy's fair skin.
Kabuto Yakushi was looking down while he walked, careful not to trip. He grunted as he slipped over a large, muddy rock and almost lost his balance. The rest of the forest was extremely quiet, and the grey-haired boy began hearing the tiniest of sounds. He glanced to his right, where the sound was coming from, and cocked his head to the side in surprise.
A small, brown mouse was trapped under a rotting, mossy log. Kabuto grinned. How did it get there? he wondered childishly. Kabuto knelt down in front of the log and inspected the mouse. Its small, furry arms were flailing pitifully. He poked it with the sharp tip of a pencil he found in his pocket. The mouse gave a high, inhuman squeal that sent a chill down his spine.
Kabuto frowned. He pushed harder, and drew warm blood. The rodent gave a final cry of dismay and pain and fell limp in the dirt. Its once-bright black eyes were glazed over and dull.
Wow. I…I killed it without hardly doing anything, Kabuto observed with mute satisfaction.
He began grinning again, but this was a twisted, maniacal grin, full of sick pleasure.
I like it…
I want to do it again.
"Just like old times, ne?" Nineteen-year-old Kabuto whispered as he ripped apart the brown mouse's innards with an exceptionally sharp razor blade.
Author's Notes:
Damn, that was short and probably not very good. Gomen nasai.
This was inspired by what Wikipedia had to say about Kabuto's personality: "He can go from a light-hearted and polite teenager to a twisted and sadistic maniac in a matter of seconds". Also, they made a point about Kabuto's eyes when they were knocked off in the Chuunin preliminaries. You know, when they became red and bloodshot? Wikipedia said that "bloodlust was evident in his eyes".
So, Kabuto likes killing things (apparently) and I wanted to write a story about it. Poor little mouse.
Also inspired partly by the cow eye dissection that I did in science class a couple of weeks ago. Now that I'm thinking about it, I regret not doing the sheep brain dissection…When cutting apart the inside of a mouse, would you use a razor blade, or a scalpel? o.O
