Autumn and I were going out. Finally. I had been busy with the cupcake business with Danny and waiting and worrying for Shrimp I had barely any time for myself. Shrimp was late. He was supposed to come a year ago. I don't know what happened. Aren't true loves supposed to realize their amazing bond and then have a happily ever after? If he didn't come soon, I might have to become a nun.
The going out part was sudden. Autumn had called me in the morning telling me that she needed some fun while she was in New York for the month. She had taken the month off from school to spend time with us, the Cool Cats. But really, I think she just wants to meet new girls. The girls at home were probably not as wild as they were here. Either way I was up for a night on the town.
The club was packed. The DJ was psyched out and made the best grinding tunes. Everone was having a great time, laughing and grinding. I couldn't wait to get on the floor. I fit right into the club scene, wearing my usual: black. Black tank, short skirt and combat boots. I hadn't changed much over the years.
I could already see Autumn eyeing a group of girls dancing. I hated watching other people flirt. I wanted to flirt. I needed to flirt. I needed a night with no commitment. Just fun.
"Autumn! Ima dannnnnceee" I loudly slurred over the music to Autumn. I grinned to her and pointed at the back of a tall guy.She quickly gave me the thumbs up before squeezing her way through the dance floor, subtly making her way to the group of girls.
I wasn't really serious when I said I'd go for Mr. Tall. But, for some reason the back of his head looked familiar. I couldn't quite place it. Who was he? Not from San Francisco. He didn't look the surfer type so probably not East Bay. Was he a customer? No, I remember customers, especially tall cute ones. Well there was only one way to find out.
He wore some baggy jeans, and a loose tank. It showed his beautiful muscles well. He faced the other way, talking with a bunch of guys. Sexy guys. That meant if I didn't get Mr. Tall I'd have a few chances tonight. I started making my way to the group of guys the same way Autumn did earlier.
