Tess Tyler
like glitter
and pop music
and pink lemonade
and drama.
But her favorite thing
in the whole world
is the color RED.

Because it's
bold
& L O U D !
and sort of fun -
in a tragic kind of way.

So Tess Tyler wears bright red
to Shane and Mitchie's wedding
and just smiles and laughs
when people call her a JEALOUS attention whore.
(and really, she is)
Because: the haters love her.

She catches Mitchie's bouquet
of W H I T E roses
and her gaze moves to Nate
who is sipping at a glass of white wine.

Tess hates the wedding -
it's all alabaster dresses and purity promises
and she's the only one wearing a LOUD! (color)
(which she secretly takes pleasure in).

It gets better
when Nate pulls Tess into his hotel room
and his impatient tongue parts her red lips
and her dress of red sequins falls off her figure
and he ravishes her before they hit the
BED
(before she even takes off her red heels)

She leaves early in the morning
but leaves an unsigned thank you note,
stamped with the ghost of her swollen red lips.

Tess Tyler doesn't love anything
but the color red
so she makes sure
that for her wedding to Sander,
everything is garnet.

The bridesmaid's dresses
the decorations
everything
because Sander needs the reminder
that her true love is red
and she's only marrying him
because he's RICH.

Her red reception
goes perfectly
until Caitlyn catches the bouquet of red roses
and looks over at Nate
who isn't drinking ANYTHING tonight,
(and Tess sees red with fury).

But even Tess Tyler
cannot stop the inevitable
because a week later
Nate asks Caitlyn to marry
him.

At Nate and Caitlyn's wedding
Tess drinks white wine -
it doesn't matter what color her alcohol is
at the moment.

She D R O W N S herself in
Italian white wine
and it helps her forget.

And she understands why Nate is drinking
red wine tonight -
because white wine makes him forget
and red wine helps him remember.

Nate Gray
didn't remember
his one night stand
with Tess Tyler
because of W H I T E wine.
(What a shame, because it's her favorite memory.)
