A/N: Written for 31days. I love this pairing.
A lover is like a key, a woman's heart is the keyhole.
A.B.A. thinks and agonizes over this. She pulls her tired gaze from Paracelus and runs her fingers through her hair, then twists and jerks the ends of her locks. She pulls until strands are nearly free from her scalp. She doesn't dare look up at him. He and his bland expression. He and his barriers. Inconsiderate. Unfeeling.
And then, she turns back to him and embraces his narrow figure, eyes sauntered downwards, frowning. "You were looking at that woman..." she says, and Paracelsus is lost for words.
What woman? When? This year? Last? He could have been looking at that particular person for another reason that the one this sullen woman assumes.
"I don't have anyone else but you," she whispers, holding him closer. He feels crisp and cold against her clammy skin. "You complete me." She runs her fingers along the sharp grooves of his form, then looks up expectantly. "I was locked up. So long. Love was just an urban legend to me until..." Tears form. "But you looked at her! That woman... she..."
She throws her arms away from Paracelsus and stomps away, then flits back, as if Paracelsus just said something.
She has to have the last word. "You!"
Paracelsus moves his wide eyes back and forth like a pendulum, confused he looks at the floor. "I'm lost."
