Luis started to cry softly as he stared at her picture.  He imagined her being there with him, being able to wipe his tears away.  He heard a noise behind him and jumped, startled.  He turned and saw her, assuming it was another daydream.  She walked towards him when she noticed he didn't move and placed her soft hand on his cheek.

"Sheridan…" he breathed, unable to tell if it really was her.

"Yes Luis, it's me," Sheridan assured him.

"I thought you were dead, how can this be?"

"I am dead Luis, but God saw how much pain you are going through so he let me see you one last time.  He wanted me to assure you that I was alright," she explained.

"But why can't you come back to me?"

"Because my time is gone.  Luis, my darling, I am always watching you from heaven.  It tears me apart to see how much pain you are going through.  I know you love me, and I'll always love you too.  But you need to stop crying for me and start living for me.  You need to move on Luis."

"Are you saying that I shouldn't love you anymore?" he choked.

"No, not at all.  I know how much you love me, but you need to find someone else to love you too.  I'll always be in your heart Luis.  Whenever you need me, I'll be there."

"How much time do you have left?"

"I don't know."

"Well then, with our remaining time, why don't we make love?"

"It would hurt you too much to know that it would be our first and last time.  I just want you to hold me in your arms until the time comes."

He sat down on the couch and Sheridan crawled into his lap.  They sat there like that in total silence relishing the feeling for a half hour.

"My time is almost up, my love."

"But you just got here!  Sheridan, I know I never really said it, but I love you."

"I know you do, I see it in your eyes every time I look at you.  But it feels really good to hear it."

"I have to go now Luis.  Good bye my darling!"

It took Luis a couple of minutes to choke those two little words out, for he was crying violently.

"Good … bye …" he said softly, crying, holding onto her tighter.  She gently brushed her lips against his and got up.  She smiled at him and mouthed the words 'I love you' as she vanished.
