Goodbye

Ryan stood at the open grave. He held a large bouquet of red roses. He stared down at the freshly dug grave, looking at the bronze casket that lay in it. The casket held the body of his best friend and lover.

The tombstone had just been erected an hour earlier. Tears streamed quietly down his cheeks as he read the epitaph engraved on it.

Colin Mochrie

1958-2008

Best Friend and Partner

Anyone Could Ever have.

We Love You

Ryan placed a hand on the cold black marble. "God I miss you. I miss you so much..I..." His voice trailed off. His voice became broken just like his heart

"Why couldn't it have been me?! The one thing I love most in this world and..."
He choked on the burning lump on his throat. "You didn't deserve to die like that!" He suddenly doubled over, sobbing.

Suddenly he felt hands gripping his shoulders. He turned to see Wayne, Greg, and Drew all looking at him with red-rimmed eyes.

They watched as Ryan walked tot he side of the grave and dropped to his knees. He gently let the flowers fall on top of the casket.

Drew pulled Ryan into a bear hug. The group of friends stood there hugging each other. As they walked away Ryan turned to watch as the last bit of Earth filled Colin's grave.

He didn't know how he was going to deal with this. He heard himself say he wanted to join Colin. There was no way he could return to that empty house. Everything reminded him of Colin.

Wayne gripped his shoulder tightly. "You can count on us. Your not going to be a lone buddy."

Ryan wiped the tears from his eyes. He smiled at Wayne's touching words. With friends like these he would never be alone.
