-1It Hurts
A/N: I was inspired to write this while thinking of Naruto's relationship with Sakura and Sakura's relationship with Sasuke while listening to the song "It Hurts" by Angels & Airwaves.

Naruto wasn't exactly sure where his relationship with Sakura was.
Maybe they were friends. Maybe they were more than that. God, how he hoped it was the latter.
It's weird at how close they have gotten while being so far away from each other. Maybe it's true, that you don't know what you've got until you lose it. Maybe Sakura realized, just how much Naruto has done for her, and what he is willing to do for her.
Naruto has always been there. Always trying to get that "one date" out of her. He could have went with Hinata or even started chasing other girls, who would have probably said yes, but no. He chose Sakura. After every no, after every let down he would get back up and try again.
Maybe over their time together as team 7, they have grown steadily closer. Maybe it's because she finally stopped ignoring him and saw what he really was.
But Naruto knew deep down, in the bottom of his heart and the darkest part of his mind, that their closness, their pseudo love was because he left.
His mind would say that it is because he left that him and Sakura have been able to get so close. After all, isn't love two people working together to achieve a singular purpose, against statically long odds.
But, his Heart would say that it is because he left that she turned to him. That he would always be second place in her heart.
And as Naruto looked at his reflection in her tear filled eyes as she whispered his name.
"Sasuke-kun"
He knew where he stood.
He should have known all along. After all,
Sasuke will always be "Sasuke-kun"
And Naruto will always be "Naruto"
